Well here we go again second time round.

I did delete my first review of this place , after Marike from Picanha Nigel contacted me last weekend after we have been there. She has appologised for the poor food we received last week Monday 5th February 2024.

So we went back yesterday afternoon. We where seated at a nice large table in the non smoking section. Our server was Nathan very polite young man who was very professional aand gave us a very good service.

Starter: Creamy Garlic Snails ( Got the same as the first time we went )

First time round the snails where watery Second time round the snails tasted alot better

Main: Picanha Steak with Union rings and chips

First time round the server did not give us an option of different ways of the union rings. And the steak was tough with little taste.

Second time round was given the option of which way I wanted the unions. The steak tasted alot better from the first...

Pichana Nigel – A Disappointing Decline

We’ve always considered Pichana Nigel a great spot, but our recent visit left us disheartened. While our waiter’s service was excellent – friendly and attentive – the food quality and portion sizes have noticeably deteriorated. What used to be generous and delicious now feels underwhelming and overpriced.

Adding to the impression that things have changed behind the scenes, we noticed the restaurant now serves “sponsored” branded water from a motor company. It gives the sense that a new manager or partner may be involved, possibly chasing different goals – ones more focused on profit than on maintaining the quality and experience that once set Pichana apart.

Sadly, the charm and standards that kept us coming back seem to be slipping away. We’ll seriously reconsider before choosing...

We visited Picanha for our anniversary dinner on the 11/12/2024 no one at front desk was there to greet us like they always do. We sat down for 30 min my husband eventually went and searched for a waiter. All staff was extremely rude and did not want to help. The manager was on the floor chatting to all the big tables who actually received their food and drinks. We eventually received a waiter after complaining to the manager. My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a non alcoholic cocktail. My husband recieved his beer. We waited for a cocktail and waiter that never arrived eventually we paid for the beer and just left drove all the way back to Heidelberg
