Myself and my fiance ate here on Saturday, when we arrived it was 09h55 we were seated and told that the kitchen opebs at 10. We then ordered coffee and asked for a breakfast menu (this took very long). We waited almost 15min before we received the actual menu, we then ordered our food this was now already like 10h15. The waiter informed us the kitchen staff will only be switching on everything in 10 to 15 min then they will start (AFTER THE MORNING MEETING IS FINISHED - BUT YET YOU TELL EVERYONE THE KITCHEN OPENS AT 10 AND YET YOUR STAFF IS SITTING IN A MORNING MEETING TILL ALMOST 1030) Other customers arround us also started asking wats taking so long. The food eventually came at round about 11h00 after we were told the kitchen opens at 10.
The food looked very nice, but it was ice cold the hashbrowns were deepfried in very old oil - it was bitter and very oily. The burger patty i got with my meal had NO SPICE (SALT & PEPPER) it was very bland. The cocktail sausages tasted like it was deepfried and reheated a 1000 times, it was very dry rubbery and stale. My fiance then found hair in his food..... The waiter brushed it off when we informed her like it was nothing new.
We said we are done eating can we get the bill, she then stacked out plates left it on the table and proceeded to another customers table where se took their dirty plates brought it to our table stacked it and then when all the dishes were stacked she took it and left WHILE ME AND MY FIANCE WAS STILL SITTING AT THE TABLE DRINKING COFFEE (SHE HAD NO REGARD FOR US).
The Establishment itself is so BEAUTIFULL, but it does not make up for the incompotent staff and that...
Read moreMy family and I visited to have a few pizzas. We arrived at 06h00, waiter took our drinks order immediately and it arrived in about 5 minutes. Great! Then he served us complimentary chicken livers in another 5 minutes or so and at the same took our order. Still great! Then the waiting began and didn’t end until I eventually asked the waiter an hour and 45 minutes later how we’d still have to wait! In all that time nobody asked us if we wanted to order any more drinks, nor even visited our table. We saw numerous pizza boxes leave the restaurant with Uber guys, but still we waited! The manager came after I asked the waiter how long still and he just asked “ What was the problem”, i.e. giving us the idea we should not have asked the question. We waited another 10 minutes, i.e. now 1 hr 50 minutes later, when the 4 pizzas arrived. We ate and then asked for the bill. The bill was delivered by a different waiter without asking if we wanted to have a “doggy bag”. We waited another 5 minutes when my wife got up, walked over to the pizza oven where she picked up three boxes and we placed our leftovers in it ourselves. We waited another 5 minutes to pay, but as nobody came, we got up and walked to the cashier to pay there. Again, here we waited as there was nobody there either that could help us. Someone eventually arrived, looked like a manager of sort, to whom I explained my displeasure about the poor service and having had to wait 2 hours to get 4 pizzas served. He expressed his surprise and said: “I hope to see you again”! Not sorry! Just that! We left, never to ever return...
Read moreI phoned to make a booking, the person who answered asked me to hold and proceeded to shout at his waiters and then dropped the call. I phoned back to make a booking and only after making my frustration clear he took my booking quickly.
The table was set beautifully in to corner of the deck next to the water and the waiter (William) was fantastic and deserves 10 stars.
However, the menu is so expensive and the food average at best - the "Thai Chicken Stir fry" is basically spaghettis tossed with few pieces of chicken and stirfry veggies HARDLY "thai". The peppered kingklip was very good, and the rest of the food alright.
We ordered cake for take-away as we were the last table and could see they wanted to close up. When we got home, the carrot cake was SOUR. Now when you pay R50 for a piece of cake no bigger than a deck of cards you kind of expect your life to change.
The restaurant has so much potential but the chef needs to sharpen up the menu and re-evaluate the pricing, and have your floor manager check on the tables. Especially if your charging R190 for a piece of fish with...
