Have visited The Pottery on many occasions for a quick lunch/coffee/smoothie as my daughter's school is around the corner from there. With friends however we had an unexpectedly poor experience during the Christmas week (- the Garden Route restaurants were overwhelmed this season and I realised locals should rather wait it out if they can!) However, we were invited back and had a totally different experience. All the staff (and owner) were charming and attentive; we were looked after like royalty and got to enjoy the pottery-painting experience - so worth doing. It was really lovely to sit in the sunny courtyard, and mindfully paint, enjoying good conversation, coffee, smoothies and finally sampled the breakfast menu. The menus are simple and they do it really well. The wraps are great, breakfast and lunch, and there is a pizza oven too, select wines and cocktail menu. It is a unique ""find" in George, not at all what you'd expect alongside one of the busiest roads - the garden and cafe are an attractive creative sanctuary. Thanks for the wonderful experience...

I recently hosted a baby shower at The Pottery, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the very beginning of the planning process right through to the big day, the entire team was incredibly helpful, professional, and genuinely caring. The food was absolutely delicious, every guest commented on how great everything tasted. The setup was beautiful, and they took so much off our plate by helping with the setup of the decor and organization. What really stood out was the level of care and personal touch. At the end of the event, they even helped carry the mom-to-be’s gifts to her car – such a thoughtful gesture that really meant a lot. A huge thank you to our wonderful waiter, Erin, who was attentive and kind throughout the day, and to Jono, the manager, who made sure everything ran smoothly. The whole team went above and beyond to make the day perfect. If you’re looking for a venue that combines great food, amazing service, and heartfelt hospitality: The Pottery is it. Highly,...
Read moreDecided to take my mom out for a nice day to show my appreciation, and we’ve both been wanting to go to The Pottery.

They had a big selection of drinks and food, so we didn’t mind waiting a bit.
Fast forward to the food My food arrives and it’s not the complete order, I received a portion of my meal and by the time she came back so that I can ask if she perhaps forgot about the rest, my food was already cold.
She brings the rest of my order, I start eating, only to find out the chicken strips in my bowl are completely raw on the inside. She takes it back and they give me the same bowl of food that was touched by raw chicken, with some cooked chicken added.
The place has a good atmosphere, regardless of our experience. We enjoyed our drinks and the people are kind. Wouldn’t necessarily...
