So tonight my family and a friend of mine went for a meal at your restaurant and this is what I have to say
Eric was our waitron and he was well spoken and well mannered we had no problem with him,we sat close to the kitchen and bar, the noise that came from both bar and kitchen was unacceptable for patrons to hear staff shouting at one another and swearing going on, we ordered 2 castle draughts one was in a castle light glass the other in a castle glass, I could hear Eric tell the bar man that the draught should not be in 2 separate glasses which I agree with then he told them the foam head on the one was so much that it was a quarter of the glass the bar man refused Eric's request and the draughts were sent to us I then told Eric to send it back as I'm not paying for foam, when he returned I think it was Cyril that said we are crazy because now he must throw both beers out, this was unacceptable to hear staff saying a customer is crazy. We then ordered our food whilst waiting the manager named Lynette came chasing a waitron out of the kitchen to the restaurant floor with a steak knife in her hand looking as if she wanted to stab her, I know staff can have fun but letting a customer see this again unacceptable. We then received our food, order of 3 spur beef burgers what a shame. The buns were old as when we picked the burger up the buns just broke into pieces, a burger is meant to be juicy and tasty, this was the opposite, no flavor no basting and hardly any sauce, my mate and I just ate ours because we had been at work all day and were starving however my wife could barely eat half of it and almost choked as the burger was so dry, we notified Eric of this and he called the male manager Chris who I explained all the issues I experienced and a humble apology was issued and my wife's burger was replaced. The burger this time was what a burger is meant to be now I ask why were the first 3 burgers not like the replacement one, is it that a customer drinking won't taste what is wrong or what. Then lastly I noticed managers in your kitchen not even wearing PPE such as a simple hair net. I doubt I will be back at your spur again. Previous experiences were great but not this one and guys season is now upon us you need to improve or I don't know. I write this so that you as an owner are aware and that you can have to opportunity to improve. Regards...
Read moreHad the WORST experience EVER at this Spur on December 27th. I ordered the ribs and my husband a chicken snitzhel stack with bacon. When the waitress arrived with our food she made a comment about my weight and the food I ordered when I told her the ribs are mine, not my husband's. Ultimately it came down to "ladies don't eat this much". I left my food standing on the table while I cried in a Spur filled with people. I later called the manager and the waitress so she could explain her comment to me and her so I could be sure what she meant before I did anything else and she confirmed that what se meant was indeed the amount of food I ordered was a lot and not appropriate for "ladies" (600g ribs which I intended to eat there and take the rest as take away for the evening as we only eat "big" once a day). The one manager standing by when I spoke to the waitress did appologize and the other manager, a man, also came and apologized and gave us the meal on the house, which was nice (I appreciate your efforts in correcting the mistake), but other than that I have never been more humiliated in my life and will never visit this Spur again. I recommend you train your temps better and I truly hope no one else ever has to experience this in your...
Read moreSubject: Formal Complaint of Racist Treatment at Spur, Shelly Centre
Dear Spur Customer Care,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a deeply disturbing and racist incident that I experienced at your Spur restaurant in Shelly Centre.
On starday 30 August, I was subjected to unfair and discriminatory treatment by the manager on duty, Chris. During my visit, a white child hit me. Instead of addressing this unacceptable behavior appropriately, Chris defended the child and dismissed my experience simply because I am Black. His actions were not only unprofessional but also blatantly racist.
As a paying customer, I expected to be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect. Instead, I was made to feel humiliated and unsafe in your establishment. Racism in any form is unacceptable, and it is especially shocking and painful to encounter it in a family restaurant that claims to uphold values of inclusivity and respect.
I request that this matter be investigated urgently and that appropriate action be taken against Chris for his behavior. I also ask that Spur provide me with a formal apology and assurance that such discriminatory treatment will not be tolerated in any of your establishments.
I look forward to your...
