After reading mixed reviews we decided try this place out for ourselves to see if it was as bad / good as some of the reviews said.
This is not a full review, but just sharing our experience.
We checked the menu ahead of time to see if they served decent coffee. On the menu we saw espresso and cappuccino, which seemed to indicate that they did.
When we sat down to order the waiter said that they "only do flat whites", which we were happy with because that's what we actually prefer.
However, after waiting an unusually long amount of time considering that we were the only patrons that day, we were brought two filter coffees by another waitress.
We asked what happened to the flat whites and we were told to wait while the waitress went to check with the other waiter.
After waiting another five or so minutes I decided to go and look for him myself, only to find him sitting at the front desk on his phone. I thought this was odd especially because we were the only patrons at the restaurant. You would think he could have to assist us.
When I asked him about the flat whites he said that their machine was broken and so they just brought us filter coffee instead.

Read moreThis was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The toilets was dirty. No water. There was buckets placed to put into the water tanks of the loo's. The middle one was so blocked after putting a whole bucket it still did not flush. The service is terrible. We waited like 2 hours for food and drinks. Food also very over priced for the quality and quantity you received. Catch this one... R20 for a 500ml still water! Really? We had to clean our own table before sitting down. They weren't rhat busy and still they were not able to handle the customers. According to information the owner doesn't want to speak with anyone..... Go figure.... Could someone capable please buy this place. This "person" have NO Clue what customer service is about. He does not even MAKE a plan with the municipality to fix the water issue. What is going on in KZN with all the water issues? People from gauteng don't bother going to kzn. This place is...
Read moreI do not know what happened to this place. It has been a tradition for our family to go here on our last evening of holiday for about 16 years now. It has been our first time back since 2018. And wow, were we disappointed.
The amazing view of the ocean could not distract us from the horrendous food servings.
The prices are insanely expensive, at R 150 for 8 calamari strips and some old, stale chips it would be the most expensive place we have eaten this entire week. We ordered a vanilla milkshake and we got some ice cream blended into a glass.
The salt shaker was clammy and rusty and we could not get any salt out.
This morning everyone in our house had runny stomachs and felt a bit under the weather.
We are very disappointed and think it might be time for a new tradition...
