We visited fo the first time today because of the excellent reviews and we were absolutely shocked beyond description.
We ordered to pick up and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. We got there about 35 minutes later(due to us getting lost)When we got to the restaurant it was huge but sadly empty. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who had our food waiting. We paid and left to eat at a nearby nature reserve.
We got 2 Lunch B options (R108 each). When we opened up our packets and individual containers, we were in shock. The amount of food per person (x1 Lunch B) was unbelievable.
For R108 we got fried rice topped with saucy chicken/beef, 5 crumbed prawns on a bed of rice (too much of rice), a tiny pack of ice cream and chicken soup. Keep I mind that this is all included in the x1 Lunch B option. And we took x2 of that for 2 people!
After dealing with the quantity shock, we took our first bites and were hit with another phase of shock. The absolute delight of flavour, freshness, texture and just wholesomeness of each dish.
Everything was hot despite us being late and spicy upon our request. Vegetables were fresh and crispy, chicken was tasty, rice was amazing. Prawns were so good as well.
Full points from us. Too bad it's not busy enough because people should definitely be eating here. Chinese food can be a bit sketchy but we're writing this a few hours later without any troubled stomachs.
It's honestly way too much value for the money you'll spend (for the Lunch option atleast).
I doubt we'd get better chinese food (considering the price, quantity, quality and service).
We're definitely going back to try out other options...
Read moreGood wholesome food, nice portions, lovely soups- especially the mixed meat wanton soup was to die for. We had the most amazing spring rolls- the pork minced slightly chunky, the veggies shredded perfectly and cooked just about done with lots of crunch, in a batter that was light and crisp. But the flip side is, the restaurant is a little wanting when it comes to variety of flavours. Especially with pork dishes, I felt they could be a little bit more adventurous as they are with other meats, than stick solely with the ubiquitous sweet-sour and barbeque flavours. Garlic, chilli, chilli-soy, chilli-garlic, XO sauce, mandarin, shichuan- there's so much they can do. Another sad feature is the total lack of accompanying sauces- just a bottle of soy on the table, which ends up rendering the same flavour onto every dish. They did try and rustle up an imoromptu chilli soya dip, which is highly appreciated, but otherwise, there is little scope for any customisations other than their, you guessed it, sweet-sour sauce. Nevertheless, the service is quick and the owners and staff very warm and helpful. With just a little bit more effort though, this could become the perfect place to satiate your...

We asked to have the chicken springrolls and soup swopped for vegetarian options, which they did for us in a heartbeat.
