Edens Guesthouse — Hotel in KwaZulu-Natal

I booked this place in March 2014 for my Sept trip through booking.com, with an instructed free cancellation and provided my credit card information for SECURE the booking not the full payment or a deposit. Then I found out that without my notice or permission, the full payment was charged to my credit card. A few days later, due to my schedule change, I went to online to cancel my reservation. I have booked other places and cancelled sometime due to any reasons either through booking.com or other online travel booking agencies, e.g. expedia, hotel... The other hotels would request my permission to withdraw a deposit or a full amount and made refund short after my online request for cancellation. ||||However, with Edens Guest House (also with the name of Endens B&B) at Durban, sever days after my online cancellation, no refund was processed. I finally decided to contact the owner. Owner asked me to send the copies of front and back page of my credit card and a letter to request cancellation. I told the owner that first of all, the money was taken out without my notice, secondly , I did not feel comfortable to provide my credit card information under this circumstances to a place where I am not going to stay. I submitted my case to my credit card company, the case is now under investigation.||||My advise to others: be careful when you deal with this place, in particular pay attention if you may need to cancel your booking. You may get yourself in trouble getting your money...

This was the second time that I stayed at this guest house and both the times the owner has been extremely rude . The first time was asked to pay R150 for an extra hour stay . The pool is dirty there is peacock poo .

Today at 10 the maid came to.tel us to leave . When doing a electronic payment he demanded that the money show on his account . My indian friend was treated so badly by him today . Making out like he never paid . He had to phone the bank and get proof from then as he did not want the SMS. . For a second stay he was extremely rude . The bedding was not changed as it was creased when we got there ..

He is the rudest man and should not run a guest house . I felt embarrassed for my friend as another couple left and he was friendly to them and thank you . When he got proof he turn around walk into the house Did not even say thank you . Will never ever stay or...

Mmmh just don’t know where to start..... I booked on the 18 th for the interview next morning. I had a pleasant stay.The place is a small heaven.It is Eden indeed.The place is very neat,beautiful ,accommodating ,has that tranquility ...a place away from the busy world where you can relax...connect with yourself and nature.The owners were friendly and accommodating ....make you feel at home. I had a problem with my Iphone charger the owner had to borrow me his to charge. Thank you guys..a lot. May God richly bless...
