Strictly Coffee — Restaurant in Langeberg Local Municipality

Since the opening of the very first Stricly Coffee (not sure 10 years ago?), the coffee was amazing! The food is outstanding and the people like-minded coffee lovers...however I had 2 very disappointing experiences in December, that makes that I will not go back. There are many other places to explore in and around Robertson. The waiter was extremely cocky, I ordered a cortado (which I have been drinking for the last 2 years at Strictly Coffee and elsewhere) and got something very weak with a lot of milk. I asked him what he brought me, and he got into an argument with me about how they make cortado's. He was fairly new there so I explained that this is not what a cortado is and I have never had it like this at S.C and he continued with his attitude that the owner decided cortado"s are now only a single espresso with a lot of milk. Amazing! So yes, I do not have to drink my coffee at a place where I get lip from a waiter, and people change the way a certain type of coffee is made to cut costs. I am unbelievably disappointed, BUT maybe it was time to explore new places...

I have only heard great things about this place, so decided to take my mom for a quick coffee there... the coffee shop states that it's open until 3 on a Saturday, we arrived 14h31. As we walked in the manager or owner, point us to the door almost immediately and said, sorry we are closed and slammed the door behind us. Weird and an unwelcoming experience. Very disappointing. Can't believe that any touristy coffeeshop would think of treating their customers like that post covid. We just wanted to have a quick coffee on a cold and wet day. Hard to be part of the people recommending this coffeeshop. Thankful for the other places in Robertson that treated us,...

There appears to be plenty coffee shops to choose from now. Even in the small(ish) towns like Robertson. So why Strictly Coffee? It was recommits me so I thought why not. Breakfast was good, coffee was good, atmosphere was good. Nitpicking but my waiter didn’t ask me how I wanted my eggs. Unfortunately for him they weren’t soft. The thing is - mostly places, relative to themselves and what they are trying to be - are good. So mostly they deserve their 5 star chance here. So going forward I want to add the exceptional piece. See if there is a place that somehow is more than what they appear to be and give them a 6th star. Strictly Coffee is good and deserves...
