I would give a five, due to the quality of the food prepared and served by Lukeman. I believe there is always room for improvement, in some way, shape or form. Which is the only reason for my 4*. What an amazing experience, personalized touch in service from the chef also on grounds of interaction with he's guests. Even ensuring the required from the waiters where they form part of he's particular journey with he's guest. In overhaul, the waiters need etiquette training to enrich and support the quality from the chef and the kitchen. I am not making reference to be greeted, seated and smiled at. There is much more required to be in place to enrich the journey in such a well designed kitchen and restaurant. The new decor and pillows look pale against the lack of the mentioned. There is missing warmth that used to form part of Tebaldi. Non etiquette professionals does not add to the needed ambiance.

The retreat has an almost ethereal quality that makes it a very special place of reflection, beauty and calm and this energy is extended into the restaurant. Delightfully cozy, relaxing, warm and welcoming with very friendly, attentive management and staff. Magnificent setting; gorgeous, tranquil gardens with roaming peacocks, ducks and guinea fowl. A great ambience with delicious, well priced meals in a chic yet unpretentious setting. We loved...
Read moreWe were looking forward to visiting as a friend had been a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sadly, this was not to be repeated this time. We orderedfour breakfasts. Three came with eggs so overcooked they were unpleasant to eat, both poached and fried. Surely these are basic skills? Mushrooms were like leather, as agreed by our server. Avo salsa? Diced avo, browning at the edges. Toast so brittle it was inedible. We couldn't believe the "chef" could think these plates were good enough yo leave the kitchen. We were informed by our server that there has been a change of management which may be the issue. This is an honest and fair review of a very poor experience. More...
