Mike's Kitchen Klerksdorp — Restaurant in Matlosana Local Municipality

My family and I went for a breakfast buffet in the morning. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was delightful and everything but the service we were rendered was absolutely amazing. The waiter we had, was a sad waiter and left quite a questionable impression that left each one of us at the table wondering if we deserved such horrible treatment or if that’s just how each waiter treats and serves their customers. Our waiter took time to bring our drinks, and only brought them once we had finished eating. He then kept getting the order wrong and kept making faces whenever we’d ask for a change in drinks or anything else. He would seldomly show up to our table and when he finally did with the bill, he wore entitlement on his shoulders by further demanding that we pay a tip. His exact words were; “Since you’re all paying the exact amount per person for contributions to the bill, who exactly among you is going to cover the tip?". This question was not going to be a disrespectful one had it come from someone who was humble and a present waiter with respect for their customers. I stood up and didn’t pay anything towards his tip because I was quite annoyed with whatever encounter that was, although the rest on my family covered it handsomely for him. They were quite generous if you ask me. I then, along with everyone of them, vowed never to set foot there again because gratuity is for gratitude and not entitlement. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the attention to detail. The play area for the kids made our visit an unforgettable experience.

What truly set the evening apart was the outstanding service we received from Jacque, Roland, and Cohen. Each of them went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. Together, they made us feel not just like guests, but like family.

The food was absolutely phenomenal each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. From the first bite to the last, everything exceeded our expectations. You can tell the kitchen team takes real pride in their craft.

Hi My husband and I are Mike's Kitchen fans, from Johannesburg days. As things are getting expensive, we don't go as often as we would like. Last Friday, my husband, Mike and I went to the Klerksdorp branch. He said he was treating me for my birthday and early Mother's day lunch.

We ordered crumbed mushrooms, as a starter, which were divine. Then I had the Rump Steak with Biltong and Avo and Mike had the T-bone and chicken wings. His food was lovely and tender, but I haven't had such tough steak. There was a generous serving of Biltong and Avo which I enjoyed, but took the steak home.
