I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life at Cappuccinos i'Langa Mall on July 15, 2025, around 2:30pm.
From the moment we arrived, the service was rude and dismissive. We were ignored by the first waitress, left to wander around with no direction, and returned minutes later to be met with more cold, unhelpful behavior from another waitress who barely acknowledged us and looked visibly annoyed the entire time.
We ordered 15 winglets (half peri-peri, half lemon & herb) with mashed potatoes and rice, and a Cajun chicken salad. The food took over 25 minutes, and when it finally arrived, it was incorrect (we got fries instead of mash). When we raised the issue, we were met with attitude again. The salad took an additional 15 minutes.
But the worst part came after eating. I suddenly felt very ill—dizzy, disoriented, nauseous and my stomach hurt. I was perfectly fine when I first arrived at the restaurant and had not eaten prior to coming here. I couldn’t stay upright and had to put my head down on the table. I ended up vomiting all the food right there. Not a single member of staff showed any concern. The waitress simply handed us the bill like nothing happened and told us to clean it ourselves using napkins.
When I asked for the manager (Proshia), she showed zero concern about what had just happened. No apology, no checking if I was okay, no accountability—just an excuse about not having cleaning staff.
This was not just a bad meal—it was a serious health scare, made worse by how cold, dismissive, and completely unprofessional the staff were. There was no first aid, no empathy, no responsibility taken at all. If I had been alone, I don’t know what would have happened. It was terrifying.
I strongly urge anyone reading this to reconsider eating here. Between the poor hygiene, lack of basic care for customers, and unsafe food, this experience left me shaken...
Read moreI used to be a regular customer of Cappuccinos until this happened: On my first anniversary with my wife, we went to Cappuccinos in Illanga mall in Nelspruit so that we could have a nice dinner. We ordered crumbed mushrooms as a starter. It was COMPLETELY raw. I asked for a 500ml glass, the waiter did not know what I meant by 500ml. Had to go and show the waiter myself what I was talking about. Finally, I ordered their seafood pizza. Never in my life have I seen such a disgrace delivered to me from a kitchen. The calamari was as tough as leather. The prawns and mussels was rock hard. Felt like I was chewing a bunch of mixed nuts that tastes like fire roasted salty pilchards. I did not hesitate to call the manager. He offered that I pay only 50% on the pizza but full price on everything else (even though the mushrooms was completely raw). Given that it was my anniversary, and I was not in the mood for arguing, I just payed and left. However, the next two days I was sick to my stomach and I could not go to work. So all in all, I recommend that people just rather go to pannerottis instead as they are just around the corner, or if you want something else, there is a wide variety of restaurants to choose from at Illanga. I strongly recommend against going to cuppaccinos. Raw/Overcooked foods + untrained waiters + food poisoning is not a way to retain...
Read moreIt's such a beautiful spot at Illanga Mall, but we did not have the best experience. We ordered cappuccinos (which was excellent), and we loved it. Along with the cappuccinos, we did order cheese and tomato toast, which was incredibly disappointing for a lovely spot like that. First, we had to wait for a little more than an hour to get our toasts while the restaurant was basically empty at 8 am. We ordered our food a few minutes before 8 am, and only got the toats after 8 a.m., and after we asked about the delay. The staff were very polite and apologising for the delay. On top of the delay, the toast wasn't good at all (pieces of bread falling apart, and lack of filling and seasoning), which led us to think they did our order in a rush after we asked about the delay. Anyway, they management and staff really apologise for the delay and we got a discount on one meal for that (and for that we really appreciate the attitude)! I do recommend the spot for people, and we are probably going to go back and get a second experience. Probably it was a bad day since they had a photographer there keeping them busy with all the marketing pictures...
