My wife and I were terribly disappointed. We were expecting a pleasant steakhouse experience on Saturday night 4 March 2023 to celebrate our anniversary, but it started off wrong. For the price, we could have enjoyed a five-star meal at a number of other establishments. We had booked online but when we arrived they did not know about our reservation, although they did not need to as the place was empty. We were treated as if we had made a mistake, with no apology for not registering the reservation. The place had no atmosphere. The food looked like it came from a boarding school kitchen, served on empty plates without anything to make it look appetising. The fillet my wife had ordered was a tough piece of meat. The vegetables she ordered with it were overcooked and unappetising. The rump steak I had ordered was cooked as I had ordered it, but the mushroom sauce I had ordered was like a thick pudding that did not complement the meat. The Morogo-style spinach was just cooked up spinach with onions and I could barely tell that tomatoes had been added. It was a far cry from the description on the menu which said "Finely chopped spinach pan-fried with onion and tomato" The kitchen staff seem to do their best to offer what is on the menu, but there seems to be no chef to guide the food or give it an air of professionalism, either in presentation or taste. The lighting in the area where we were seated was too bright. The music did not add to the atmosphere. It is not a place for a fine dining experience. When asked for a menu, a person, whether it was the owner or manager wanted to know why we want a menu, as they have a steak birthday special. He was not friendly at all. Before we could explain that I did not eat red meat and wanted to see what else there was for me, he just left our table. At the end my husband had to try to find someone to provide us with a menu. After ordering our food, we waited for about 45 minutes for our food. People that arrived after us, received their food way before us. My husband and his brother had the steak and I had chicken. The food was not even the wait. If it was not that my brother-in-law has difficulty in walking, we would have left and looked for somewhere else to have lunch. I'm very disappointed in the establishment. They will not so us again in the near future, unless they up their game. 👎😤😠.
