As soon as we entered Fire and Vine, we were greeted with radiant smiles. We were made to feel like a member of the family right away. It was simple, and we genuinely felt at home. The friendly man showed us the difference in atmosphere between outside and inside because we weren't sure where to sit. He was quite polite and considerate toward us as he showed us patience on a different level. He then gave us a seat at what felt like the most upscale, cozy, and private table in the restaurant. He continued to go around the tables, even after assigning a waitress to us, to check on all of us. Every action he took had a certain personal touch that really stood out.
Our assigned waitress was extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations. While we were still in awe of that, I made my way to the restroom and was greeted with nothing but pristine cleanliness. I also felt comfortable since the woman mopping the floor was very kind and approachable. She was so kind that I swear I just wanted to sit in the restroom with her and chat nonstop. Most cleaners make you feel horrible when using the restroom in their presence.
We were eagerly expecting our orders after placing them. While we were there, we had some great chats and listened to some good music. The cherry on top had to be the chef coming over to our table to let us know that one of the items we had selected was not up to par and that he would like to offer us something different in its place. It was so admirable that he had the time to confront us about this after coming out of the kitchen. Since I knew what we were served was just perfect, the honesty was refreshing and helped me really relish my meal. And it was perfect in every way.
The best impressions are still being left by this intimate restaurant! Excellent service, mouthwatering food, stunning presentation, a large wine selection, and a lovely dessert. Everyone should go here, in my opinion! Again and again, I want to return here. It has a very warm and endearing atmosphere. They clearly prioritize keeping their customers satisfied and happy. Everything has a personal touch.
Thank you for such a blissful...
Read moreMy dearest friend on holiday from Jhb @ Rozale took me out for a dinner treat. We were excited to dress up and have a delightful much needed night out As I have not been gainfully employed and rarely get an opportunity to fine dine or dress up I was super excited for our night out. The venue is delightful and easy on the eye Once seated we ordered our drinks and being really hungry quikly settled on meduim done steaks to appease our rumbling tummies. We both opted for meduim done steaks Rozale being a foodie and with an eye for detail was really disappointed to recieve an overdone steak We notified our waiter Management then replaced about 10 to 12 minutes in it w the requested meduim done however she was displeased with the cut of the steak as it was visibly sinewy ( i could see this )and 1 cut in she lost her appetite She did inform Management that the first cut of steak had been a purfect cut but had been too well done and that the 2nd steak definetly appeared to be a cheaper cut! My steak had a cheese filling which did nothing for the steak as it was cold and rubbery when I cut into it..however apart from the cheese not doing any justice to supplement the taste of my steak ...my steak was palatable We had sides of vegetable and chips which again was just okay... Not exactly on par with fine dining Management did offer Rozale a desert on the house whilst I looked forward to what promised to be a decadent choclate cake we ordered for me The free desert was not great neither was the choclate cake A very disappointing experience overall 1 of the managers explained that the 2nd steak given to Rozale had not been through the proper ageing process and if she came in by Feb/March she would have a better steak Ludicrous to say the least by way of explanation The Management are lovely folk always but this was what I called a night of...
Read moreMy friends and I received terrible service on Friday night. Firstly she made us wait almost 30 minutes for our bottle of wine to arrive. Then she brought one plate of food to the table and we thought she was going to fetch the other meals but no she disappeared while we waited another 30 minutes. It started to drizzle so the one meal that was on the table as well as our glasses of wine got drizzled on. We requested an umbrella and she never brought one for us or even asked that we move to a different table. When I asked her to remove the one meal off the table she told us we are busy and she can not guarantee that she will be able to warm it up when the other meals arrive. And we showed her that the food was no longer edible because it was rained on and she finally took the plate and disappeared again leaving us in the rain. That’s when we decided to stand up and leave. When we got to the entrance we sat on the couch and waited for another 10 minutes for a manager to arrive. Two managers came and organised a table inside for us. The funny part of the story is they brought those wine glasses from outside and expected us to drink a cocktail of rain and wine! The AUDACITY! And when the food arrived to the table they gave me the same food that had rained on in a different plate and they thought I couldn’t tell the difference! I had to explain to three different managers 3 different times that we would like to order another bottle of wine but we can not order it until the wine that was in the glasses outside had been replaced. They even offered us alternatives to the one we wanted because apparently that wine doesn’t come per glass it comes in a...
