PIRATES STEAKHOUSE & PUB — Restaurant in Plumstead

I am visiting Cape Town after a while and used to be a 'Regular' at Pirates Restaurant, which always led to going to the pub section and DJ/Dancefloor section too. This evening however, I popped in with a sealed meal I was taking home for my diabetic mother and was greeted with MASSIVE EGO and AGRESSION from the Bouncer who seemed to need to assert his authority. I was NOT going to enter and open the meal. I was going to enter and have a drink while awaiting an Uber to get home to take the food. He refused to hear me out and I chose peace after he hit my hand away. I am EXTREMELY dissapointed and strongly advise Management to address this matter through training of empathy. I am at a loss for words, because I have been bringing people both local and international to the venue, but now I am hesitant. The pictures will show how much I respect the establishment. They were taken when I was forced to walk away in order to stand far away at a complex, to get an Uber home. It sickens me that I spent so much money early in the evening, greeted past familiar faces and I am embarassed that the folk around me had to witness this and...

Food, service and entertainment was good. Bouncers/Security very much trash and liars. At the entrance my friend was told that he couldn't bring some items on his person in and he was told that the bouncers would keep his items and he could collect them when he left. He insisted that he could put these items in his car and that would be the end of it but they said they would keep it for his convenience so that he didn't have to go up and down. He then verified 3 times over with the staff that they would keep his items and they said yes they would. However, when it was time for us to leave and he requested his items, he was told they had thrown his items away in the trash. These items were valuable. Nevertheless the money isn't the issue. The issue is being lied to. They confidently lied to us and when we confronted them about it , the bouncer nonchalantly brushed it off and paid no real attention to us. Due to this I rate you 1 star because 1 employee represents your entire franchise and I cannot in good faith recommended anyone...
