We had the worst experience at Bossa tonight. Which is really sad as we are regular customers and really enjoy their food. We even celebrated our baby's first birthday at Bossa...
Please keep in mind that during this entire experience I was holding a sleeping baby and I am 8 months pregnant.
Knowing that it's month end and Bossa having their Burger special I made a booking for us at 19:00. I requested a booth as it's easier with a sleeping baby.
We arrived at 18:50 and we were told that the other half of our party was already at the table. When we got to the table it was definitely not the other half of our party. So my husband went to go speak to the Manager and they sat us in the booth next to the booth we were shown to go initially.
This is where it got very humiliating and embarrassing as we were then chased out of the booth by other customers claiming that this booth was theirs. I was already seated in the booth with the baby. I then got up and again we requested to please be seated at a table. Even though we made a booking we had to stand and wait for a table to now be cleared. We were then shown to a table for the third time and as we get to it other customers were then seated at that table as well. Needless to say... we did not stick around after that.
I know that this won't make any difference to their turnover but we will not be going back there and hope nobody else gets treated the way we were treated tonight. Despite supporting their business on a regular basis. Also felt that the Managers were not really willing to sort out the...
Read moreI visited the Bossa Roodepoort branch and had a highly disappointing experience. I typically order waffles whenever I see them on a menu, but these were by far the worst I’ve ever had.
I ordered waffles that looked great on the menu and decent when they arrived. However, when I cut into them, they were dry and, on the first bite, cold with a stale taste. I asked the waiter, Pedzi, if the waffles were freshly made, and he assured me that they had just been prepared and were definitely fresh. However, after a few more bites, I could no longer eat them due to their poor quality, so I asked for the bill.
The manager came over and asked if I had enjoyed my meal. He mentioned that the waiter had informed him I was dissatisfied with the waffles. I explained the coldness and old taste, and the manager apologized, revealing that the waffles are actually pre-made, frozen, and simply reheated when ordered, which directly contradicted what Pedzi had told me. This explanation confirmed why the waffles were cold, hard, and tasted stale.
It was extremely disappointing to experience both the poor quality of the food and the lack of honesty. This experience has unfortunately soured my view of the restaurant, and I and the people I went with won’t...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a place where the waiters ignore you on sight, and when they finally acknowledge your existence, treat you like an inconvenience—this is the spot for you. I walked in simply wanting to ask about a special advertised right outside, only to stand at the front desk, completely ignored while the staff stared at me but made zero effort to assist. When someone finally did approach, their attitude screamed, "What do you want?"—as if I was disturbing their peace. All of this unfolded right in front of the manager, who seemed more invested in paperwork than ensuring their team had even the bare minimum of customer service skills. If they don’t respect their own management, who am I to expect any kind of decent treatment? Now, let's talk about the food. If you enjoy deep-fried, frozen mediocrity, this place serves it up in abundance. I wouldn’t feed their wings to a stray dog—unless I wanted to be charged with cruelty. They’ve truly taken low-effort dining to another level (sarcasm fully intended). If you want to experience disrespect, dismissiveness, and food that tastes like regret, Bossa Roodepoort is the perfect spot. Otherwise, I highly recommend taking your money...
