I wish service delivery in South Africa was done with passion. Calling 135 to receive assistance from a customer care representative is nearly impossible! Iāve been trying to activate an eSIM for an Apple smartwatch and first went into an actual MTN store where I was simply told that I needed to follow the steps from the Watch app on my Apple iPhone. Unfortunately I did not know what my username or password was and I tried to retrieve my username and was given an error. I tried to retrieve my password but the site seems to be down. The in-store representatives have no idea how to assist. I called 135 this morning and they are unable to assist with the activation and was directed to speak with an in-store representative.
In summary, I was told in-store to follow the steps even though I couldnāt remember what my username and password yet I have a profile since my number is linked to one. Secondly, the website gives you errors. The MTN app is terrible and is not secure because all you need is a MTN number to login once an OTP is sent to the number. I canāt change details except for a profile picture (useless) and I am unable to change banking details because of system upgrades.
