First a little back story...

I was stuck at work, and having one of those days. One of those day where everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. Have you had one of those days? Then you probably know how they are.

It was my brothers birthday, and my boss expected me to work late.

Now there comes a time in a persons life where you just have to say "Screw It!" (Can't use explicits in my reviews)

And that is what I said (sort of) and told my boss no. Family is important, and I'm taking my brother out to dinner.

Whew, what a build up to get to a hamburger.

Now, I haven't ever before ate at Del Fornos. I always thought they were a pizza place.

Well they are more than that.

They serve wonderful authentic Italian dishes. They serve pizzas with fresh ingredients that almost looks too good to eat, made in real wood fired ovens. Creamy Trinchado and medium rare steaks are also on the menu.

But.

Then is when I saw it...

The GRANDÉ BEEF Hamburger

Two 150g pure beef patties with extra cheddar, crispy bacon, tomato, red onion and Dijon mayo. Skinny fries on the side.

It sounded heavenly. And the price? Well the effect it had on my taste-buds was priceless. But for everything else there's MasterCard, and at R115, you'll have to bend your card to afford it. (it's worth it though)

Sure, Rocomamas are right next door. And don't get me wrong. Rocomamas make an incredible burger. But, something just feels better with Del Forno. Their hamburger is made with love, and dare I say, soul.

You will have to experience it for yourself.

So if you crave a juicy, succulent hamburger, with two big beef patties, cheese that melts down the sides, extra crispy bacon, red onion and tangy Dijon mayonnaise, go get one right now.

Now you are probably wondering why that extensive backstory? Well, that meal with my brother had a life changing affect on me. I started pursuing what made me happy in life.

I am not saying the hamburger changed my life. Maybe it did. Maybe it was just seeing my brother. Either way. That hamburger will always have a special place...

Very disappointed in the service we received.

We order 4 pizza's different types. Firstly the moblie app was bugging out as it loaded pizza's multiple times, on the checkout page the pizza's were corrected and a instructions added to place the chilli on the side, which didn't happen, there was no chilli on the side and the pizza with chilli had none on.

The pizza's arrived and the order was incorrect, we contacted the store to advise them on the mistake and they told us the order showed 2 of the same type of pizza, we could not verify this as the app has no way to see what you have ordered. They advised they will make us the missing pizza. The missing pizza arrived, correct, however they wanted the extra pizza back, we feel this is unacceptable, due to the fact the system messed up our order, there is no way for us to see the history to confirm. And it is unsanitary to take back food which has been sent out on delivery. We contacted the store again, and they advised they FORGOT to mention they wanted the extra pizza back or we need to pay for there mistake. Our question is what would they do with the extra pizza, sell it again???

We ended up having to pay for the extra pizza as we already ate the other pizza's we received on the first delivery, due to the fact they didn't mention they needed the extra pizza back.

We feel this is not the first time we have had issues with this store, a few months back we recieved frozen pasta, however we couldn't raise this with the store as the store was already closed when we received our order. We decide to let it go.

This was the final straw for us and we will never ever order from Del Forno again. They have lost a valued...

First time placing an order for delivery from Del Forno Horizon, called in and lady took the address, repeated the name of street address, reading back and spelling it out, we still checked of they deliver to our area yes we do 30 mins... So 1 hour later delivery guys called to say his I front of our house with pizzas to find out his in another suburb? Delivery guy didn't get it wrong... As the till slip shows she took address incorrectly to start with from the call even after repeating the address and spelling it out...so how do I take it out on the delivery guy his going where he was told to go... Our pizza is cold on arrival due to the 1 hour delivery time to the incorrect address, delivery guy apologied and was very sheepish sensing I was rather angry. yes we would have sent this back, but we are hungry and very disappointed by the service received and had to warm pizza in the microwave sad to say to feed the family as they are hangry.... It's the first time ordering from this branch very disappointing R340 for 2 cold pizzas delivery distance 7.7kms and would not consider using...
