What a pleasant surprise!! I've always loved Second Cup but haven't visited since 2018 - Just before my dad passed. Special place because that's where we shared our last "Restaurant Meal" together as he was already very sick at the time. I had a good time that day due to awesome food and the best waiter EVER. Unfortunately I can't remember his name. I visited again recently & found the place looks even more stunning than before!!! VERY nice renovations done to the shops that make Second Cup more than just a food stop in a nice garden!!

& Of course... The chickens and chiclets are still running around -CUTE! I always look forward to seeing them!!!

Breakfast is definitely a step up from your local Wimpy and lunches like these... You won't find at your Family Restaurants like Spur... Every meal is perfectly prepared, portion sizes are really decent, I've never received cold food or beverages and waiting time is not bad considering. Not that waiting a bit is even noticed as you are swept away by the surrounding greenery, the chickens running around, the birds making themselves known in the trees and interesting things for your eyes to linger on.

Also, ALL the waiters are friendly, focused, as fast as they can be and you can see they're all part of the furniture and probably know the menu by heart. I asked the waiter to ask the chef not to be shy with the cheese sauce and I really smiled when my plate arrived! That's really going above and beyond to satisfy a customer. What a nice team to work for you! TO the waiters at second cup: You are all SUPA AYOBA!

The gate is not manned BUT the parking is safe. You should see a security person close by the moment you get out of your car. They're not the kind to run over and greet and hint hint for cash - which is great, but they're on their posts watching. Perfectly secure parking. The kind of guys I'll walk over to to tip myself... I think it would be well worth it and deserved to set them up with a basic, covered watch out spot like a small shed to shield the sun in summer where they can at least plug in a heater or a kettle in winter & charge a phone.

Really feels like you took a drive out to the Country Side. Over-all lovely experience. Thanks & keep up...

Amazing forest type of setup provides lots of private little spaces to sit underneath huge indigenous trees who give natural shades during the hot summer days. Ample guarded parking available. The place offers some of the most interesting privately run shops and boutiques where you find things no mall can offer you. Funky fashion, footwear for the beach, a mix between the flower power look and Heidi guarantees something for everyone. When you sit outside please don't get a fright if you see chicken and duckling running between the tables and coming to see you for a visit. It's a real hidden gem to enjoy your breakfast or lunch in a beautiful nature type of place. Food is excellent and decorated with eatable little flowers. The waitress and waitresses are very friendly and will gladly help you with your choices of what to eat as everything sounds exciting and exotic. The icecoffe was superb. Great mix of tees available too. The actual time between ordering and waiting for the food took however very long. Drinks were served after asking couple of times for it. I'm not sure what the reason was; perhaps a kitchen related problem? Or new trainees? I'm sure it was temporary and not something which occurs often. Definitely worthwhile visiting if you look for a hidden gem in the Randburg/ Honeydew/...

I recently visited Second Cup, a quaint restaurant with a beautiful tea garden and some of the most delicious food and desserts I have ever tasted. While the decor is certainly outdated, it somehow adds to the charm of the place and makes it feel like a hidden gem.

The real highlight of Second Cup is the tea garden, where you'll find chickens running around and a serene atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a different world. It's a great spot for a relaxing breakfast, and the food here does not disappoint. I highly recommend trying the breakfast options, as they are simply amazing.

The food is prepared with care and attention to detail, and the flavors are simply divine. From the fresh baked goods to the homemade jams, everything is absolutely top-notch. But the real stars of the show here are the desserts - I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are simply incredible.

While the decor may not be everyone's cup of tea, the food and tea garden at Second Cup make it well worth a visit. Whether you're looking for a tasty breakfast or simply want to relax and soak up the charming atmosphere, this is a place that you won't want to miss. I highly recommend giving it a try - you won't be...

It is an absolutely beautiful place for any type of meal, being with friends or family. The food is really well priced and the portions were huge. The coffee was hot and really yummy. The menu has so many wonderful options for different types of meals. There is some pathways that the older generation may struggle with as it's a bit rocky. So there weren't very obvious wheelchair accessible entrances. But it is doable. The service was wonderful, kind and attentive, very good timing for food and drinks. However cute the chickens might be, they make an awful lot of noise and when food comes out they swarm underneath the table in large numbers and don't leave until you've finished your meal. It can be especially weird if you are eating one of their chicken options. However it is a beautiful spot surrounded by trees and the sound of birds, with good meal options and there also happens to be a lot of other shops on the premises so lots to do there. Definitely worth checking it out for a nice brunch or breakfast option.

FABULOUS vintage interior space with a FIREPLACE for cold days, as well as an EXQUISITE garden to sit and experience superb food. Beautiful chickens happily click-clucking between the outside tables , herbology, Pilatus studio, vintage shops and various other ecclectic little clothing and accessory shops. As usual, our waiter RAPHAEL knew EXACTLY where we preferred to sit in the garden and even knew what #deirdelarkin the world champion marathon athlete will once again order, who recently, on heritage day, turned 90!!! BEST Tramezzini I have EVER tasted. Chicken mayo with lots of CAPERS!! Deirdrè had, as usual CHEESECAKE and Mira had Apple Strudel as well as a Strawberry Tower dessert! Delicious!! Thanks so much Ivan and Anette for keeping this place going through thick and thin!!. PLEASE NOTE: I really hope the new management of the property won't chop down more trees in the garden area... it would cause the outdoor seating NOT to be so pleasant anymore...and we LOVE the shady garden!!! ❤️🌴🌳🌲🌳
