Finally a place we can go to with our Muslim friends without having to make special arrangements. Such a fantastic concept and definitely think this should be expanded upon in a bigger, better space with the capacity to seat much more patrons. Two of the dishes were not for me but having said that, the others in our party enjoyed it. I hate the location of the bathroom and the fact that you have to ask for a key to get into it - ruins the whole vibe of the experience. Also, weird and hectic jazz music playing that had me irritated by the time we left and anxious to get into the silence of our car. Service - lacking in the sense that i did the tea pairing and on 3 occasions i had to ask for my tea. Waiters never once asked if we wanted more drinks and didn’t come around to refill water glasses. For me, if you’re selling a fine-dining experience, the service needs to be on point, efficient, flawless. Some work needed here definitely. Small tweaks would make such a difference! The mocktails were fantastic, as well as the sparkling grape juice we were only offered once at the beginning of our dining experience.

Went with family for a birthday dinner, and what an absolute and utter phenomenal experience! With custom made dishes that suit our diet, we were met with a 5-course dining with the most vibrant, diverse, unique, and delicious dishes. Made with pure love and passion, we could sense the enthusiasm and pure joy that the chefs and staff members put into their work. There is a tea for every dish, perfectly paired together like a match made in heaven, so  make sure to not miss out on that. Interior comes in a minimalistic fashion, giving vintage and modern mashups, and the decor tops everything off with its bold  colours and variety of textures. Smiles all round from the team, the space was cosy, welcoming and comforting, leaving only the best of the best service on offer. Thank you Chef Anwar and The Happu Uncles team for gifting us such a wonderful evening dining experience. The birthday star sure had a birthday to remember. 10 out of 10 recommend for anyone and everyone. No matter the reason of celebration,  The Happy Uncles is the place to go! Take care until next time. Jia

This experience keeps you on your toes from start to finish. From the "scarey" entrance next door to the container yard, with the abandoned warehouse feel, and the question.....are we in the right place??? To the theatrics of food service and presentation, like I said, " on your toes". The food was amazing from start to finish, although I must admit, the chicken dish was a bit bland for my taste, despite all the different components to the dish, it was the only one of all the courses that lacked a bit of oomph....with consensus across the table. My favorite was the vetkoek with lamb. We also loved the free flow of the sparkling grape juice. Our option was the 6 course menu without the tea pairing. We were very happy with our choice and left the venue over satiated. (side note....5 star experience let down by 1 star bathroom facilities).
