V Restaurant @ Val de Vine — Restaurant in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

I booked a table for 10 pax for Mothers day online. Wanted it to be special for my 74 year old mom, my brothers and myself and our kids. I booked a table for inside on the deck. I received a email to confirm our booking a few hours later. Phoned the next day aswell to make sure all is in order and was assured our booking has been confirmed.(all other restuarants that I liked was already fully booked, that's why I checked) On the day we arrived, my booking on their list but no table inside was available for us. We stood around outside for about 10 minutes and eventually seated us outside. We waited another 20 minutes for a menu. 40 Minutes after we arrived we finally got our drinks, placed our orders and proceeded the waiting process. Our booking was for 13:00, by 15:00we still had no food. Asked the waiter how long our food will be and he said another 40min. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially on mothers day. We left and went to Giovanni 's at Waterstone. We were helped immediately and had our food within 20min after we ordered. This was really the worst experience I ever had at any restaurant in my life. Its not like we arrived unannounced, we had a reservation and was treated like they were doing us a favor by giving us a table outside and then ignoring us for 2 hours. Hope they don't treat their own mothers the same. They will never see...

Year-end company luncheon. I'm sure service will be much better when it is just me and the family instead of a group of +-150. The atmosphere was good, the food was excellent, however the service was not the greatest. We initially had 1 server looking after 40+ people. Only later more staff was added, but that only came after a +-2 hour wait for the food. I trust lessons were learnt for the future on how to cater to a big company and get food out at...

Lovely venue, nice music, nice kiddies area. 1st drink order took over 20min to arrive . Our waiter was not very attentive. Yes we were 12 patrons, but I still expect the basics to be in place.
