SCHOON Stellenbosch Square — Restaurant in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

I have supported Schoon Bakery and Resaurants sinced they opened many years ago as they bake the most amazing sourdough breads. I was extremely dissapointed in the service on Wednesday 22 March 2022 during our breakfast at Schoon Restaurant in Stellenbosch. Apart from the food taking very long (only 2 tables were occupied) I discovered meat sausage ( I ordered xtra fried mushrooms) in my vegan meal. My food was topped with salad and a lot of sauce and I think the staff thought that I would not pick this up. I had to spit out my food as I immediately realized that there was sausage in my food. I immediately called the waiter. My husband ordered sausage as he does not eat pork. It looked like I got 2 mushrooms and parts of sausage that was prepared for my husband in my vegan food. Normally if I ordered xtra mushrooms I would get a seperate portion. What is further very dissapointing was that I communicated the event with the owner and got no response. I will defnately not be eating at Schoon Restaurants ever again especially if this is the mindset...

During my time here, I realised a few things. Along with the wonderfully mouth lathering & rich 70% Dark chocolate Schoon Mocha, time truly does slow down. I lost myself for a brief few moments, heard the birds, saw them share the scraps of passers by, some local some foreign, all mist in a world of chirps between the butcher across the courtyard and the scent of the local spice collection just down the open Stellenbosch air lofted aviary filled today lesser than your usual sound encompassing world of busyness, only a few words of chatter, the footsteps and the beautiful sounds paired with the magnificent aromas of roasted coffee beans, you could almost distinguish the frothing of the variety of alternative dilutes, as I said, lost in a world of chocolate is where you might not find me but it is where I will be situated whilst I sip my imagination with a warm beverage whilst here on a...

We were quite disappointed with the service we received early yesterday morning. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived, and it remained that way when I left, leaving my partner to stay behind for his meeting. Despite this, the waitress repeatedly ignored his attempts to get her attention. She assisted tables next to and behind him but never came to our table. When it was finally time to pay, he had to wait an unreasonably long time to get the bill. It seemed like she wasn’t interested in her job at all. Also, the fireplace needs fixing!

This was my second visit to this restaurant, but after this experience, I’ll be choosing a different spot next time. Really disappointing. Pity because I really enjoy your...
