I always look for the quality of the products, mastery of flavors and cooking techniques, value for money, setting, service and consistency between visits. The most difficult part is to decide impartially, fairly and honestly review which is very difficult as we all have different taste buds, styles and expectations; Therefore my reviews are based on my “Papilles” and experience.
Casa Valdez's owner (still do not know her name...) , is not your typical restaurant owner, but she knows her trade...The Culinary Craftsmen Behind the scenes, the kitchen staff are the unsung heroes, the craftsmen of Portuguese flavors who turn simple ingredients into culinary masterpieces. Each chef, a virtuoso of the flame, wields their knife with precision and layers flavors with intuition. The food they cook is not just great; it is a testament to their relentless pursuit of perfection and authentic Portuguese food.
Conclusion: A Feast for the Senses, Casa Valdez is more than a restaurant; it is a Portuguese destination where every meal is a memory in the making, every bite a note in a symphony of taste, and every interaction a brushstroke in a masterpiece of hospitality. From the head management to the lovely waiters and the kitchen’s staff, each plays a pivotal role in crafting an experience that is, quite simply, awesome! Not to mention one of the staff's singing abilities floored us last night...It was one night of a kind, great vibe, atmosphere, people Etc
Do not miss: Chicken livers are really lovely (perhaps, the bread should be real French baguette, just my opinion), 1/2 fried fish pan (As a Frenchman, I can tell you the chef got it right), Ribs are delicious, Sangria very nice...!
Casa Valdez, well done!
PS We will be soon visiting you again and will bring along Honey!

Read moreService was great, but they we're quick to rush and take our orders. We ordered some garlic rolls to share as starters and some wanted a salad to share. We waited over 30 minutes for this to arrive and only once it did and we started eating, did the server bring complimentary plain rolls and butter. We sent it away as it was too much and complimentary rolls should be served shortly after arrival and not after 30 minutes and with starters.
I had the sirloin prego roll and my partner, the chicken prego roll. Mine was partially rare, instead of medium as ordered, tough fat on the end, slapped onto a dry roll with onions on top, chips, coleslaw and presentation was seriously lacking.
My partner's chicken was two small pieces of bone dry chicken breast slapped onto a dry roll with chips and again, no care as to presentation. Not even the sauce he asked for, helped to make it any less dry or more tasteful and I felt really bad having to watch him battle to force it down. We were celebrating my partner's birthday and didn't complain as we didn't want to spoil the evening with friends. There's nothing they could've done to correct their poor food and presentation anyway, but at least the ice cream and chocolate sauce, and the malva pudding were nice. I fail to see why this place is even...
Read moreFood fresh & cooked BEAUTIFULLY however, the waitress was rude, abrupt & unfriendly!
People don't go want to go out & be treated as though they are being done favors or intruding! The blonde lady & tall man were really pleasant though.
Here's a hint:
if you don't like your job OR being nice to patrons, FIND another vocation.
Overall, dull experience with militant, backhanded vibe from server - also, be grateful I was pleasant when you opened a can of Grapetizer (without asking or warning) that "burst". Lucky I helped you. Had it been another customer .....
SHAME on you for your nasty demeanor and ruining the name of the awesome environment you work in.
Not surprised that there were probably 5 tables the entire evening. YOU are jeopardizing the jobs of BOH and the brilliant musicians who do their best....
