Dario's Cafe’ — Restaurant in Western Cape

I went there with my son yesterday to grab a quick ice cream. They have a small but cozy open backyard with a slide and a jungle gym. This was the good part. The backyard says no smoking but used butt buckets all over the tables??? We couldn't find out about the whole variety (5-6) of the ice cream types as the waiter was new and he didn't know. BAD MANAGEMENT. I'm not a fussy person but the ice creams were rather overly sweet than tasty. I have ordered a coffee for myself and a water for my son. Had to find out from someone - I'm guessing working there - in a baseball cap(???) that the coffee machine was cleaned already as they were closing. I don't remember well but I think it was between 4 and 5. When we found out about the coffee I had to ask for the glass of water again. Ordered with lemon and ice. Got no ice but a glass of luke warm water with lemon. Not because the overly sweet ice cream but coz of the lack of care in the place which made me decide to put them on my...

This is a 2 & half rating only due to very slow & poor service from the waiters & kitchen team. Taking my booking call, I had to spell my name multiple times & the lady just kept on repeating it incorrectly. When we arrived, the waiter didn't even see an open table to seat us (4) a seated client directed them & us to an open table. The waiter/s were not observing the area, eventually, maybe a manager saw us, he was apologizing, friendly & fun & then he took our orders but this was already almost an hour later only to take our 3 drinks & 1 water order, at this time we placed our food order together with our drinks. But he only wanted to take our drinks order first. 10mins later our drinks arrived & took our food order again. Our food then took another 1 & half hours to arrive. Maybe they had a bad...

We stopped by Hout Bay this morning and needed some good coffee and breakfast and couldn’t have picked a better spot. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee greeted us as we walked in!

For breakfast, we tried the Spinach Eggs Benedict and the “Eggs in Purgatory” (poached eggs in a bolognese sauce served with toasted bruschetta). The eggs were perfectly cooked to medium, just as we ordered. The hollandaise sauce on the Benedict was some of the best I’ve ever had! The bolognese sauce was bursting with a fresh, pomodoro flavour 🤌🏽

The manager/owner on duty was also very attentive, personally clearing our table and asking how the food was. This was really appreciated!
