We found this gem not far from we were staying near the Andong Public Ungbu Library (near the Andong Cultural Centre). We wanted a quiet peaceful relaxing meal and chose Andong Hall after checking out the busier food alley nearby. We had the most delicious beef bulgogi which the owner’s daughter showed us how to cook on the BBQ grill. The meal was accompanied with many tasty vegetable side dishes known as Banchan. These were some of the best side dishes I have had since my stay in South Korea. We were given a complimentary traditional Korean rice dessert drink called Sikhye. It was very refreshing. We washed our meal down with barley tea and Cass beer. Using a translator, we asked where where we can buy Cass (Beer) glasses. To our delight, we were given 2 glasses to take home to Australia. Read moreA wonderful place - we visited with family and got the best treatment. We got our drinks right away, and our food was made for us right after. Staff would semi - regularly check in with us to ask us if we needed anything, and everyone was super sweet and respectful. They even took it further by using google translate and taking time out of their service to make sure we had everything we needed and wanted. Food was incredible and filling, and there were refills and dessert that were complimentary and done so with the staff all showing passion for their work.
They offer forks and barley tea (as well as plain water) Gave us tips on how to eat the bulgogi best
If I could give them a higher review I...
Read moreFound this great bulgolgi restaurant just behind the Andong Cultural park and not too far from the main food street. It's been around since 1972 and has a real family run vibe about it. The food is excellent and won't break the wallet. Expect to pay 15,000 won per person for their award winning bulgolgi. English is limited but with a translation app such as papago or Google translate you shouldn't have too many problems or go hungry. If you're looking for an authentic restaurant and menu then make the trip to Andong Hoegwan...
