We were recommended this coffee shop by our friend's at Gorilla Brewing company that did s sour and coffee craft beer collaboration.
We were told that the people at WERK are really passionate about coffee and the explore the science behind making a cup of coffee so we went and gave it a try.
On the first floor is the coffee roasting room where you can see the staff at work roasting the different coffee beans and they write down information about the coffee on the window which acts as a type of board for them which is cool to see.
You go down the basement to order your coffee which is where we were greeted by a really nice man named Boem. He explained to us the menu they have and the different types of beans you can choose and flavours you get from them based on the drink you get.
I ordered an Americano with the Bolivia Trapiche Java Peaberry Natural bean. This bean will you give flavours of prune and blueberry with a champagne taste. I'm a fan of blueberry and prune so was very excited for my cup of coffee and I really appreciated the time that was taken to explain the process from choosing the drink you want and the types of beans and flavour.
When I got my coffee I could immediately smell the prune and blueberry. Upon tasting my cup of coffee I knew that I was drinking a really great cup of coffee. The level of flavour coated my taste buds and left a taste of coffee and fruit in my mouth that was very smooth and clean and wasn't too acidic and one of the best cups of coffee I've had in a long time.
We told Boem that we were visiting Busan from Seoul on vacation and that our friend's at Gorilla Brewing Company had recommended them so he gave us 2 drip bags of coffee for free which we enjoyed the next morning and had a great cup of coffee.
I was really impressed to see the Science at work to roast and create a memorable cup of coffee that I would highly recommend to anyone.
Their collaboration with Gorilla Brewing Company has resulted in a beer called "Baby Sour" which is a traditional berliner weisse. A low calorie beer, sour and refreshing, with a hit of roasted coffee. Werk Coffee Roaster's signature blend "Baby" was used to maximise the coffee character with the sourness.
I highly recommend their coffee...
ย ย ย Read moreWerk Coffee is a great spot for specialty coffee lovers. The minimalist interior and open space create a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a cup of well-brewed coffee. I tried the Ethiopian and Panama options, and both had distinct flavors that showcased their origins well. The presentation was simple but thoughtful.
Service was smooth, and the baristas were knowledgeable about the beans they served. While itโs not the coziest cafรฉ, itโs an excellent place for those who appreciate quality coffee in a stylish setting. Iโd definitely come back...
