🌙 Fullmoon : Chill Dessert Spot in Cheongju with Unique Bingsu Options
Tucked into the scenic Suamgol area of Cheongju, Fullmoon proudly touts itself as the originator of Korea’s cheese bingsu, even claiming to be the world’s first to introduce this savory twist on a classic dessert.
Their signature cheese bingsu is a creamy indulgence built on finely shaved milk ice, topped solely with smooth cheese cubes and honey, no fruit adornments. It delivers a satisfyingly rich, slightly savory flavor, and truly sets it apart from the fruity bingsu more commonly found elsewhere.
I also gave the blueberry bingsu a try. It features whole blueberries generously scattered over a round base of yogurt‑or‑milk‑flavored shaved ice, finished with crunchy cornflakes. Compared to the cheese version, it’s noticeably lighter and fruitier, a refreshing contrast, though not on the “must-try” level unless you favor tangy fruit over creamy decadence.
Inside, the atmosphere is relaxed yet lively. The air conditioning runs strong, so it feels chilly unless you grab one of the blankets they thoughtfully provide. There are board games available, perfect for lingering with friends. The café tends to be busy most of the time, and while the tables aren’t always spotless, the space feels welcomingly casual.
One of the highlights is visiting in the evening, the large windows offer a lovely night-time city view, making it a nice spot to unwind after dark.
Verdict: If you’re curious about trying the cheese-bingsu-original café in Cheongju and don’t mind a bit of chill, Fullmoon offers an interesting and cozy spot especially for evening hangouts. It’s not a must-visit, but definitely worth a stop if you’re...

I was very happy to find chai masala on the menu, and we also tried Kenyan coffee, along with strawberry cake, which was fluffy and sweet just right. The menu is a bit on the pricier side, but I guess you also pay for...
