코창 과천본점 — Restaurant in Gwacheon-si

I read several reviews and heard that it was a good restaurant in Gwacheon, so I went there with my family. The restaurant was not large and had the feel of an old style deco. First, we ordered Som Tam, Tom Yum Goong, and Tet Man Goong, and each person ordered Larb (stir-fried pork rice bowl), Koh Chang fried noodles, and Pu Pad Pong curry. The taste of Som tam and tom yum goong was great. However, Pu Pat Pong Curry seemed to be made by mixing curry into eggs, frying them, and then mixing them with softshell crab. The crab had a greasy taste, as if it had been fried several times. The pork stir-fry rice bowl did not have the unique flavor and wasn't spicy, so it was unappealing. I don't think the Kochang fried noodles are worthy of being named after a restaurant. Tetmankung also felt like it was below average in taste. 오랜만에 과천에서 외식을 하게 돼 구글맵을 열심히 찾아보다가 발견한 곳. 과천정부청사역 11번출구에서 3분 정도 거리의 예전 중앙학원 건너편 건물 3층에 위치. 접근성은 괜찮은 편이다.

내점하는 순간 여기가 태국인가? 싶은 분위기로 바뀐다. 점내 인테리어라던지 음악 모두 태국이다. 아마 과천에 오래 산 사람들이라면 다들 한 마디씩 할 것 : 과천에 이런 곳이? 리뷰를 보니 평일 점심에는 직장인들로 만석인 듯하나 토요일 저녁시간대에는 좌석이 여유롭다. 그래도 배달주문 소리가 꾸준히 들려온다.

메뉴는 똠얌꿍 쌀국수와 팟타이 중에서 고민. 날씨가 더워 맥주도 한 잔 하고 싶었으므로 역시 팟타이가 괜찮아보인다. 맥주는 창 맥주로 주문. 깔끔하고 청량감이 기분 좋다. 팟타이는 굉장한 볼륨으로 제공. 이거 완식할 수 있을까? 하는 생각도 들었다. 살짝 산미가 도는 맛이 좋다. 역시 여름에는 산미가 어울린다. 아삭아삭한 콩나물과 견과류를 함께 먹으면 식감도 다채롭다.

메뉴 중에서 고민하던 똠얌꿍 국수를 비롯한 다른 메뉴들 역시 신경 쓰이므로 다음에 다시 내점하고...
