This is an absolutely delightful place located just off Golden Street. It looks inconspicuous from the outside and that's the vibe they're going for. The emphasis is on cocktails based on local liquors, conversation and comfort, which is why there's no raised bar and limited seating. The music is upbeat but not very loud. They have books on cocktails and the bartenders really engage with you about the drinks that they're making. The whiskey selection is incredibly extensive with a short food menu. I liked the spiced popcorn they served for snacks. I had their signature cocktails: Gyeongju, made with the local rice wine manufactured by the famous Choi family, tastes really well with the lemon and smells even better for the edible perfume; Hwa Won, another local wine that went well with orange flower water and rhubarb syrup; Song-Pyeon, which is the first time I had a drink with pumpkin seed syrup and sesame oil, it really replicates the flavor of the Korean rice cakes as advertised; Bijou, very minty and tasting of pine nuts, cinnamon and jujube; Earthy Negroni, which was just way better than a regular Negroni, served with a candied Jeju orange. I also had a white ragu pasta, that was just awesome. Thanks to the bartenders for handing out free shots of different rice wines. I would definitely recommend this bar to anyone who...

We found this place by passing by and because we liked the cocktails, the food and the atmosphere so much we spend both of our evenings in Gyeongju here.
The staff speaks English, they are foreigner friendly and they also welcome solo travellers which is not very common in Korea as mostly places only accept parties of 2 or more.
We tried several of their signature cocktails both with and without alcohol and also the Italian style food. Everything was delicious!
If youโre in Gyeongju,...
