Haewoljeong — Restaurant in Jeju

We came here because I saw someone really recommend the sea urchin porridge online.

We had 2 dishes and 2 drinks for three people. It was a fine amount but we weren’t super hungry. The porridge had a good taste but it wasn’t as different and special as I imagined. It was a little expensive. Actually, I thought the kalguksu soup was better. We finished it all!

The workers were kind and spoke a bit of English. The airplane noises are a bit much but it’s kind of exciting that you can watch...

After all the hype on social media, it was pretty disappointing. To be fair we came close to closing time so the ahjummas were more focused on closing up, but the food was sad.

The sea urchin and abalone porridge was bland, you can barely taste the sea urchin, which is supposed to be very creamy and add lots of flavour.

The seafood pancake was gooey and felt raw. There are so many amazing restaurants in Jeju, I'd rather try...

Excellent place to try "Bomal" (보말). Price is reasonable and the view is also pretty decent. The noodle soup was okay, but the congee or 죽 is the good stuff. The location is also great with giftshops...
