Halal Daewonga Seafood Restaurant

First meal of our Jeju trip, and what a way to kick it off! There weren't too many halal options that were open in the morning, but thankfully they were open at 9am!

We had the abalone porridge and seafood hotpot, which came with a pretty good spread of side dishes. We also got a free pancake and grilled cutlass fish, and when they saw that we had cleaned out the fish, they topped it up with another :D

Portion sizes were very generous, and prices were reasonable considering how fresh the seafood was! Quite the culture shock too, seeing the seafood being cooked in front of you.

Staff were friendly and attentive, helping us with the seafood hotpot, cutting it up when the food had been cooked, and taking it off the heat to prevent the food, especially the octopus, from getting overcooked (and too rubbery).
