Beautiful traditional cafe and bakery, interesting experience

This is a traditional hanok building filled with private rooms where you can enjoy coffee, tea and confectionery sweets amongst antiques and beautiful views.

It's quite pricey, we spent £18 on two coffees and a plate with 3 tiny rice cakes.

While I love the way they blend the old with the new, it was a bit hard to reconcile the high price with the self-service concept.

You order at a vending machine, you go pick up the order yourself and you clear the table yourself.

I saw lots of staff but not sure what they were doing, as you pretty much serve yourself.

Still, a good experience to try once but I wouldn't...

OMG. Don't ask and don't doubt. Just try! I would say this place is must visit place whether you are near or not. I would willing to drive 3 hours again to visit this place again. There is movie called Le Grand Chef which is about korean food masters. The film was taken here. Their Hanok is so nice and beautiful. The food is a bit expensive compare to other restaurant near this place but it's worth it. I would definately visit this plave once a month if they were closer to Seoul. 정선 하이원리조트 내에 있는 한옥 베이커리카페. 카페 앞쪽에 비교적 넓은 무료주차장이 마련되어 있어서 이용은 편리하다. 출입문으로 들어가면 넓은 정원이 나오고, 본채와 별채 몇동의 한옥건물이 멋지게 지어져 있다. 날씨가 좋은 날에는 정원에 마련된 자리에서 차와 다과를 즐기면 더 좋을것 같다. 본채 건물에서 주문하고 음료와 다과를 픽업해서, 원하는 건물의 자리로 가져가서 먹으면 된다. 주문용 키오스크도 있어서 줄을 서지 않고 주문도 가능하다. 본채내부는 전통적인 아름다음과 현대적인 느낌이 공존하면서 잘 어울리게 꾸며져 있다. 본채나 별채는 신발을 신은채 앉을수 있는 구역도 있고, 신발을 벗고 들어가야 하는 구역도 있다. 본채 건물 중앙쪽에는 중정도 있어 운치가 있다. 커피뿐 아니라 전통차 등 다양한 종류의 음료가 메뉴에 있고, 빵이나 전통 한과도 여러가지 준비되어 있다. 다만 전반적으로 가격대가 꽤 비싼편이다. 빵이나 커피, 그리고 전통차의 맛은 좋은편이다. 한옥의 옛스러움과 아름다움, 그리고 멋이...
