Chai Cafe – Jjaidabang — Restaurant in Seogwipo-si

We visited Chai Café in Jeju (famously known for BTS’s “Are You Sure?” visit). The place is undeniably beautiful — one of the prettiest Indian-inspired cafés I’ve seen in Korea.

But the experience left a bad taste. We unknowingly arrived a bit before opening time and were already walking up the path when we crossed the owner about five meters from the entrance. He looked at us but didn’t say a word. Then, as we reached the door — which was already open — we saw him again as he entered the café. Still no greeting.

Just as we were about to follow him in, he came back out holding two pieces of wood (maybe for some repair work), and said, in a dry tone, “It opens at 12.” No “hello,” no smile — just that.

We returned at noon anyway, but the lattes weren’t good, which was the final letdown. Aside from the fact that BTS once visited and the décor is lovely, there’s not much to recommend here. A cold welcome, poor drinks — honestly not...

방탄소년단 BTS. 막내라인이 방문한 곳이라 찾아갔습니다 일부러 찾으러가야 보일 장소에 선영이란 역대급 사교적인 고양이가 있는 짜이다방 인도를 옮겨다놓은 인테리어에 오밀조밀 예쁘게 해놓으셔서 구경하는 재미가 있었어요 많이 달지않은 밀크티가 시그니처 메뉴입니다. 잔에 고양이 인형을 달아주는 센스가 있어서 더 재미있었어요 저는 유자차 스타일의 귤차를 마셨는데 이게 너무 바람부는 겨울의 입구에 마시기 좋았습니다. 고양이가 테이블마다 다니면서...

리뷰가 너무 좋아서 놀랬네요..! 제가 갔을때는 손님인지 가게 주인 지인이신지 누워서 몇분 주무시고 계시고(심지어 제가 있는동안 계속 주무심! ) , 거의 모든 테이블은 전 손님이 마셨던 음료들을 치우지 않아서 장사준비가 안된줄 알았어요 (오후3시쯤 방문). 자유(?)로운 분위기도 좋지만 약간 위생면 (먼지가 그득하고) 누워서 자는사람들의 발을 보면서 커피를 마시는게 좀 불편했어요. 제주에서 이색공간이라는...
