Arrived down the stairs at 14:00 and at 14:01 a staff member (male, glasses, very short cut around the head) with a straight face told me last order is 2pm. I showed him my phone that said 14:01 and explained it says breaktime from 15:00. He said no more pizza orders.
Door to the restaurant was wide open and sign says 11:30-22:00. Google says open until 4pm. Catchtable says break time 15-17. No where online or at the restaurant does it say L.O 14:00.
This same gentleman felt quite unfriendly when we came last time as well. We waited 40min for a table. While the place is popular there is no reason to look with an angry face at the customers. It doesn’t cost extra to be a little friendly. This person is doing this otherwise nice restaurant a disservice with his attitude towards the customers. Not welcoming AT ALL.
Kitchen staff noticed and immediately waved me in, and I could have a lasagne at last. I ordered a San Pellegrino from the same gentleman when I ordered the lasagne but he never got it for me.
The rest of the staff seem quite friendly but this person clearly has a poor sense of service. Certainly not in line with a trattoria in Italy - or anywhere else for...
Read moreWe didn't make a reservation because it was early on a weekday evening, but the wait began when we arrived. There was something a bit hard to understand about why one star was removed. There was an empty table in the restaurant, but we didn’t guide them, and the person waiting right in front of me, who arrived almost at the same time, was allowed to enter relatively quickly. However, we were only guided to an already empty table after waiting for over 40 minutes. They seemed to enjoy the wait. Of course, the food was decent, but there weren't many menu choices compared to that... It was disappointing that there weren't many dishes to choose from compared to the very small portions of food. Most of the dishes were white sauces, but there were two tomato-based dishes? I ordered pickles because it was just that, but I was taken aback by how spicy the Cheongyang chili pepper inside was. It was delicious, but I didn't feel good. And above all, it was so noisy that it was impossible to have a conversation.
Please refer to this for those who...
Read moreRestaurant access is up some stairs, thru a door, and then down some stairs (basement level). Wait time for me was 20 minutes. Tell the cashier/bartender if you don't have a Korean cell phone, as the waiting list is done via self-input of your (Korean) cell phone number into a device near the entrance door, and a text message is sent to your local cell number when it reaches the top of the waiting list. I informed the cashier that I had no local cell phone, so he notified me verbally when my waiting was over. The crowd (mostly 20's - mid 30's) seemed to be having a very good time. Loud (Friday nite) but friendly atmosphere. The best Italian food I've had in the Western Pacific region; that includes military installations. The cheese used reminded me of food in Naples. I had a Regina pizza and Porto-pasta (2 entree's). Average 20K Wan per entree. Both were outstanding! Major credit cards...
