Maju Story (Organic vegan cafe) — Restaurant in Seoul

This cafe makes me feel at home. Right from the start!

At first, you take off your shoes before entering. Behind the door, you find a bright room offering chairs as well as cushions on the floor, allowing you to choose the type of seating you feel most comfortable with. The room's wooden interior is decorated with postcards and books. Cushions and curtains are held in plain, subtle colors. Natural materials. It smells of wood, tea and sometimes bakery fresh from the oven.

It seems like a space for people from the neighborhood to either study quietly or gather for conversations. In general, there's a calm, peaceful atmosphere which is occasionally enlivened by friendly chatter.

The food is produced on location using mostly organic and seasonal ingredients. Everything is lovingly arranged, but not too extravagant. Delightful simplicity. I liked the diversity of the menu overall and very much enjoyed the taste of good, home-made food.

Beside sweet dessert-like items, they offer various teas, soy lattes, bingsu as well as a few sandwiches. There's even an English menu for international customers...

The space is beautiful, intentional, and I could tell there was a lot of thought put into this cafe. You can sit on the floor too which is a bonus for us aging people.

Great peaceful classical music in the background, quiet and filled with Korean books and colour pencils. A great place for introverts imo. I spent about 3 hours here art journaling.

I had the burger set meal which was also delicious and the Korean plum tea that was refreshing. All ingredients tasted clean and fresh 🩷🍃🌿

The only downside was that the matcha is already mixed in with sugar so your matcha drinks can’t be sugar-free fyi. This is for those like myself who are sensitive to sugar.
