Yedambapsang — Restaurant in Seoul

Never having eaten traditional soy sauce crab before, i was quite curious and excited to go. Hubby’s treat!

It appears that lots of people have tried to abuse the restaurant system before, as the menu had a big warning notice to say that every person had to order at least one dish - no such thing as two meals, three people ㄴㅇㄴ

I would have liked a more proactive style from the wait staff to briefly explain how to eat each part of the crab, as the traditional way involves quite a few bits that are not immediately intuitive (adding soy sauce to one part but not the other, mixing one part, adding rice, adding a certain ingredient, etc).

The food is ok and the aunties working in the kitchen are very lovely and caring.

The cashier lady though is extremely rude: 1) we’ve asked for more nori (side dish to make the sushi) and scissor to cut the crab and she rolled her eyes on us. And then gave us the nori and scissor unwillingly with unpleasant attitude. 2) there’s no sign for cash only or verbal communication in regards of this prior, and she said she can’t take card. We’ve then asked where the ATM is as we have zero cash, all of sudden she pulled out a machine said she can take card now. So dishonest....

Our hotel recommend this place for soy sauce. It was no regret for only 2 of us. We ordered the set, each of us get one crab, but we end up adding an additional crab cuz it was soooo good and authentic. Atmosphere was comfortable. We eat and chatted with plum wine, it was one of those memorable experiences where I would deft go again for the food and the atmosphere.
