Read moreWe visited this restaurant twice during our holidays, and unfortunately both experiences left us quite disappointed – with the exception of Izaro, the friendly lady with glasses, who was the only attentive and helpful member of staff we encountered.
Overall: decent enough if you’re desperate, but don’t expect much unless Izaro is the one serving you. On top of that, it’s quite overpriced for a simple beach restaurant with this level of service.
On our first visit, we ordered patatas bravas and ended up waiting almost 20 minutes, only to see our order served to the table next to us who had just sat down. We complained immediately, and Izaro was quick to explain the situation and resolve it for us. Our food then arrived straight away, though we had to rush through the starter. Later, we tried to order dessert twice, but the only response we got was “you need to ask my staff” – none of whom ever came by our table again.
On our second visit, things didn’t improve much. We waited 30 minutes for bread with alioli – which was nothing more than pre-heated, sliced baguette with ready-made sauce. We asked two different times about it, but one staff member simply ignored our questions and didn’t bother checking. Once again, it was only thanks to Izaro that the situation was...
Read moreThe sun was getting low in the sky so we decided to see if what was said about the bar on the beach was true. Yes yes yes. We were greeted warmly as we approached this modern stylish bar. We were seated at a table with an uninterrupted view of the beach and sunset. The drinks menu offered up cocktails at about €5.90 - €7, the gin/vodka cocktails were all €10. Luckily my drink this week has been gin and lemon, Pomodero which was a reasonable €6. Massive measures of gin and sharp lemon in a large glass, perfect. My daughters picked fruit cocktails which looked and tasted beautiful. The two chaps working were spot on and very friendly. A portion of octopus and potato was generously delivered to the table " on the house " and tasted lovely. We were rewarded with a clear sky and stunning sunset as the drinks flowed. The bar filled with people who ordered lovely smelling food. The paella looked and smelt wonderful. As the night got darker the soft blue/green and pink bar lighting blended perfectly with the low chilled music to create a perfect environment for a...
