Restaurant Traffic — Restaurant in Alaró

It always baffles me how people who work in the service industry can be so rude. The staff took ages to bring us menus, and even longer to take our orders. It was quite busy so I’ll forgive them for that, but not horrendously busy. An order for two extra waters was also forgotten about until we had to ask another waiter.

The kicker came when it came time to order our mains. I ordered the exact same thing as another member of our party, but was brought a completely different order (my order was dish that had rice with prawns, yet I was brought tempura prawns). When I told the waiter that I hadn’t ordered this, he insisted I had before grunting something at me and slammed the plate down on the table before walking away. He then avoided our table for the rest of the meal.

In hindsight I should have gone back up to him and insisted he deliver what I was paying for, but at that point our baby began crying constantly due to having wind so we had other matters to deal with. I ended up sharing some of the meal from another party member and splitting the tempura prawns up (I’d had fried calamari for starters so didn’t want yet more fried food).

The starters were nice, but some of the mains weren’t great. My partners carbonara was a stodgy mess and she left most of it. All in all, it was terrible service considering we spent €250 here. Try...

Went to Traffic yesterday, a place we have visited and enjoyed many times. Sadly it is now under new management and the parking was shut. As my husband and 2 other members of the party are disabled it meant we had to park on the road quite a distance away and my husband had to walk. Our friends phoned the restaurant on arriving at a closed gate and eventually were allowed in the parking area. We were offered a table in or out but instead of sitting by the pool as before the outside tables are now on the square which was very noisy and busy so we opted to sit inside. The food was good but the rose wine which 2 of us had was a third of a glass, literally three sips and the cost was €7 each!! We ordered bread alioli and olives plus agua sin gas which never arrived. When the bill arrived these items were included so we complained and the bill was adjusted. Sadly we will not be returning to this restaurant in future despite it being handy when visiting relatives who live in Alaro. Our third visit here and sadly really bad service. One of our party didn’t receive their meal, no apology just excuses. Finally arrived after everyone else had finished, but the chef decided to change the order from entrecôte to the 50 day aged steak, which tasted rancid (4 of us tried it and one of them a chef agreed it was not good ). Again no apology, more excuses even suggesting we were wrong. A free beer was offered but no apology, the manager/owner hiding inside barking at the waitress who was sent out to give us a load of absolute rubbish about how the meat should taste, how humans make mistakes etc etc. we were a big group, all living her and mostly working in catering and hospitality. All that needed to happen was the manager to come and apologize and compensate. He continued to hide even after we asked to talk to him.
