Hired a carbon framed bike here for two days for close to 60 euros including pedals and a helmet. Got the bike back to my hotel to check over for the next morning. The brakes were close to non existent, there was a 3cm gap between the blocks and rim(should be credit card width). They also didn’t have the right size shoes for the pedals (but they did in other pedal types didn’t tell me as I found out later, so I think they couldn’t be bothered to change the pedals on the bike). I made the best of it as the shop was closed by the time I checked everything over. Went out the next morning, front derailleur wouldn’t change up, back derailleur wouldn’t hold a gear without skipping and there was a constant clicking from the rear hub plus the loose brakes tired my hands on the long descents. Took the bike back to the shop after my ride and explained what was wrong. Got a new bike, I checked this time before I took it out of the shop. Instantly the same problem with the brakes, you could pull the levers to touch the dropped handle bars with no tension in them at all. The mechanic begrudgingly changed it to make them a bit better. Next morning ride, same problem with the front derailleur, took 10 mins of constant effort to change up to big ring and it was super hit and miss. Bike maintenance is non existent at this shop, bikes really greasy and unclean with poorly performing parts. For the same price as hiring a car for a week, I would expect better. I’m purely an amateur cyclist and I noticed immediately how wrong the set ups were. So if you’re super keen and like a nice clean functioning bike, maybe go somewhere else. The cafe looks good for food and coffee, just not so...
Read moreI had about an hour to kill today while I waited for the bus back to Palma. To me, that seemed like plenty of time for a coffee and a bite to eat considering, the bus stop was across the street. It took them over 30 minutes to take my order! They were either incredibly understaffed or just did not have a business process in place. There isn’t anything particularly time consuming about their food menu but it seemed like they prepped food as it was ordered. I ordered an açaí bowl and a brownie! That probably took another 20 minutes. It’s probably better to change the process to have food ordered at the counter and hello, food preparations need to be in place so that you’re just whipping out orders. Cool concept, great ambiance but completely unacceptable level of service!!!! I had to get my açaí bowl to go and eat it...
