This place was not for me. I'm not sure how to describe it: hipster, raw-fusion, half fancy. Out of the six courses I've had, three included a lot of raw vegetables in combination with fruit. The salad with "jamon" had strawberries instead of balsamic vinegar. Another starter had a lot of finely diced vegetables with raw onion and a shot of tomato juice with beer which was quite weird. The thing that bothered me the most was that next to my beautiful salmon they placed a lot of diced raw vegetables again with a lot of red peppers winch overwhelmed the dish. I ended up eating all the bread, which I never do when eating out. On the positive side, I enjoyed the rice with mushrooms and ribs and the dessert (deconstructed cheese cake). The owner tries to be funny, buy he ended up being a little rude and condescending towards women, so I left feeling a bit bad. My advice would be to try to be less futuristic and actually cook the food instead of blending raw fruit...
Read moreThis is, in all the best meanings of the words, a hidden gem. I don't know what some are complaining about coming with kids. We had our 11 and 13 yr Olds, and it was their first experience with fine dining and a tasting menu where they didn't have choices. The food is seriously amazing, and unbeatable value. But the personal attention from our server, especially to the kids, was unforgettable. Our younger one, who's the fussier eater, tried absolutely everything and genuinely liked it. Wines so unique, and essentially without markup. Seriously unsure how they make money here. It is out of the way, but consider taking this road through Alquézar, just to make it a destination for this...
Read moreA truly unique place! Food, interieur and hospitality are very personal and excellent. Love for food, guests and interior details distinguish this place. We don‘t speak Spanish and the the host doesn’t speak English, but communication was well bridged. We asked for advice in the local cuisine and followed the host in a lot of recommendations. We certainly will remember this version of white gazpacho made from almond and blended with some exceptional spices. Another recommendation is the pluma credo iberico. As desert we choose the torrija de boniato - surprising and very tasty! The biological wines are carefully chosen from local vineries and also excellent. We miss the sixth star on...
