A Mixed Experience at Melitón Jardín: Beautiful Terrace, Okay Food
I recently visited Melitón Jardín hoping for a great evening, but left with some pretty mixed feelings, which led me to give it a 3 out of 5 stars overall. This review is truly a tale of two halves: a fantastic setting paired with a "okay" culinary and service experience.
The absolute highlight of our visit, and what genuinely saved the evening from being bad, was the patio (terrasse). It is absolutely stunning—charming, beautifully decorated, and provides a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Sitting outside on a nice evening here is genuinely delightful, and I would highly recommend Melitón Jardín purely for the ambiance and outdoor dining appeal. However, the positive feelings faded quickly upon arrival. The initial service was disappointing; the welcome was very minimal and not so friendly. We felt slightly unwelcome, lacking the basic warmth and hospitality you expect from a dining establishment, especially one that appears to position itself as a higher-end locale. Moving onto the main event, the food was decidedly okay, no more. To be clear, it was not bad at all, and everything was perfectly edible and presented well. But that's where the praise ends. There was no dish that stood out or offered a memorable flavor profile. It was competent but lacked any real spark to elevate it beyond being merely satisfactory. This leads to the final sticking point: the price is a bit high. Given the competent but uninspired quality of the dishes and the noticeable lack of warmth from the service staff, the final bill felt excessive. While the terrace is gorgeous, it doesn't quite justify the premium cost attached to the full dining experience. For that price point, both the food and the customer service need to be exceptional.
In summary, come to Melitón Jardín for a drink or appetizer on the beautiful patio, but if you're looking for a truly memorable meal or top-tier service to match the price, you might want to...

Read moreVery average, overpriced, poor service, very confused. Wouldn't go again.
45 minutes to get beverages after we asked what was happening, then food started to come after an hour. I think they're understaffed for the size of the restaurant and under skilled for the price tag.
The children's chicken schnitzel was overcooked. The "secreto" pork, also overcooked. Melon salad, very average. The chateaubriand beef may as well not have been seasoned at all. The price point for all this is probably closer to 1/3 what it is. As I said, very confused.
Staff tried to be helpful, but slow delivery, having to ask what is going on, where is what we ordered, etc. just doesn't add up to a good experience, and especially not for the price tag. The venue & atmosphere cannot even justify it to other options in the area.
Sorry folks, I just don't have anything positive to say...
