After we (my wife, our almost 20 year old son and myself) found 'Zero Zero' by accident, we felt we had to return once more after the positive experience last week. We even retrurned two more times. The reasons for these 2 more experiences in just 6 days were very simple for us : 1) The quality of the food was good to very good 2) During all our 3 dinner evenings the Zero- Zero teammembers (at the bar and in the restaurant) clearly understood what is needed to make us ( = the customer) feel like a very welcome customer. All teammembers absolutely showed their love for their jobs 3) The atmosphere and decoration of the beachclub/restaurant give a 'very good feeling'. 4) Looking at the cleanliness of the toilets and washing rooms on the first visit, I knew that the kitchen is managed, organized and kept clean in the same way. 5) The fact that many people return to Zero-Zero... showed us as well that they do not only go for the 'easy way'., but want to proof that quality will always pay for itself (even if the prices of the dishes can be considered as 'medium/rather high' (= compared to the bulkfood restaurants and/or compared to restaurants where the spanish locals would have their dinner). However the advantage of that is that you won't easily find the ' professional junk-food lovers' in this excellent restaurant. We had to drive some 20 km (one way only) to get to Zero-Zero, but I would even go there if I had to drive 40 km. One small complaint : The 'Thai Chicken soup' of myself and the 'French fries' of my wife were on the low temperature side. We could have informed the team but we did not, as the taste of the dishes covered this minor issue. But my recommnedations to the kitchen and the whole team: Please get this (easily) improved. Recommendation: To enjoy the good food of Zero Zero: take your phone or reserve online... Comment to the owners Harry & Edith: You did a great job. Please keep Zero Zero at this (or even higher :)) level! Now the 3 of us have to find a reason to visit one of your other restaurants in Doetinchem, Winterswijk or Zevenaar and see what you will be offering us there.....even now we may have to drive 60 - 70 km ( one way, from the...
Read moreCareful: Loud concerts on Mondays!
Mixed feelings about this place because food is very good but we had a family gathering on a Monday, and didn't know about the music show.
We arrived after making a reservation and were seated next to the loud speakers. The music was great but we couldn't talk to each other without shouting. After asking to the waiter if we could be seated somewhere else, he, with his nose out of the mask, said the music was "going to finish soon" (not true). Music didn't finish until 40 minutes later. It is established on the website as we got to know later that music ends at 10pm so the waiter knew it was going to be over in 40 minutes but unprofessionally lied to us. And yes, there was more than enough space for us somewhere else, the place was not crowded at all, and we did not have food in the table yet.
We also asked the waiters to take a picture, and the waiter with the nose out decided to put the selfie mode on the camera with the other female waiter and even the singer. It is nice the vibe between the waiters is like this, but I think its more important to look after the comfort of the people you are serving, rather than enjoying yourself, specially at work.
We happily had desserts when the music was over and could talk. The other waiters were lovely.
Shout out to the singer CannaDutch...
Read moreLovely refurb of this friendly seafront lounge/restaurant. Always served excellent food at reasonable prices. Yesterday was my first visit since before covid 19 and I love the new look with the same staff as the old one! In all honesty, on this occasion I was disappointed with my main. I chose confit of lamb, which I've never heard of before but decided to give it a go as the waitress told me it was just leg of lamb. It was mainly lamb fat and hardly any meat, however the vegetables and fries were excellent! I was asked by one of the servers if I enjoyed the meal and I came clean and gave my impression. I have to admit that we English don't normally complain but I wouldn't want any first time diners to get the wrong impression of this restaurant and not return so don't have the lamb! As I was saying the lovely lady asked me and I came clean after which she asked me to try another portion of the lamb, I did, it was the same mostly fat! I will of course return because the staff, location and ambience are...
