Let me start by saying that the food is excellent. We ended up having dinner at De LAB after we realised that this was from the same owner than The Grill (El Albir).
You really can't fault the food but I feel like De LAB wants to be too many things at once and by doing so compromises the experience.
We arrived at 7:30pm and were seated near the kitchen. It was boiling hot outside that day and without any extra fans or cooling system the seats near the open kitchen were extra hot. Also, the sound system was blaring out loud tunes which didn't feel appropriate yet since we were trying to have a meal, and conversation for that matter. Staff did turn down the volume a little so we could actually talk. But then as we were finishing our meal we also had to deal with the fumes of shisha pipes which seem to be a "trendy" add-on to the De LAB menu.
Maybe De LAB should focus on being a lounge / shisha bar and only serve "bar snacks"? The place seemed packed out though, especially in the evening.
It's an odd one really since De LAB could easily turn over more meals during the day and late afternoon with the quality of its menu but the more stylish interior and fabric seats kind of hold people back from going straight from the beach... which would probably be the best time to go in order to enjoy a chilled meal and not have the loud music nor shisha fumes.
The beach clubs in St Tropez / Ramatuelle manage to find this perfect balance and are welcoming day and night in order to enjoy quality...

The menu, a delightful showcase of flavors, featured innovative and comforting dishes. Each plate that arrived was a visual feast adorned with artful presentation. There were nine of us, and each of us had a different meal to find out which was the best. There were no jokes, and every meal was fantastic. We came back immediately for lunch the next day. I had a sirloin for dinner and the Korean BBQ style for lunch; they were equally good. Clearly, the kitchen is helmed by a chef who is skilled and passionate about every ingredient on the plate.
Not to forget, they also made one of the most excellent cocktails.
The attentive and friendly staff (especially our waiter, Kevin) sets De LAB Beach Lounge apart. Their professionalism and grace, as they ensured every need was met with a smile, made us feel respected and valued.
In a world where dining out is often just another meal, De LAB Beach Lounge reminds us that it can be an event—a celebration of food crafted with care and service that makes you feel like family. I left with a contented heart and a promise to myself to return. To the De LAB Beach Lounge team, thank you for an unforgettable evening, especially to Dani,...

I’ve received better service from a can of tinned tomatoes! If, like me, you enjoy good food, great service, and ambiance, this is not the place for you. My girlfriend and I came here to have a nice meal along the beach promenade as the sun was setting. However, not only were we not seated until 30 minutes after our reservation time (while others were), but we also weren’t able to place our order for another 30 minutes.
During the first and second half-hour, our server seemed more interested in his own reflection, staring endlessly at himself on his phone, than in doing his job. Even after we asked him to take our order (an hour after our reservation time), he failed to return with starters and drinks for another 30 minutes.
The food was fine, but what wouldn’t be when you’ve been hungry for 90 minutes? There’s nothing more to say except that it was a disappointment after reading plenty of reviews raving about how good...
