Excellent service, great food, very acceptable price. We got the table we wanted for a party of 8 at 7pm, which is quite early for locals and would influence this. Everything was delivered promptly and when expected. I only rate a 4 because there are some amendments La Cena need to make:

There are 2 locations for La Cena in Altea (area?), and they don't have a unique name on Google or any identifiable traits to distinguish them. This confused us and part of our group went to the wrong La Cena and had to quickly walk to the other 🙈 The address of the other La Cena is actually the address of this one, but this one has the correct pin location. Photos between the 2 locations are also mixed up. This absolutely must be resolved: both the address, and a unique name for each location 👍

We ordered the 1000g "rib-eye" steak. While perfectly served, and accurately portioned (we fed 3 people with it), it is NOT a rib-eye steak, it is a T-bone. These are different parts of the cow, so buyer be warned if you're expecting some kind of giant rib-eye 😂. I mentioned this to staff + manager, but I think my Australian accent is challenging 😅. Recommend this is updated on the menu to avoid disappointed customers 👍

Their website blocks AU IPs. Bit technical, but I'd you're a foreigner using data roaming on your phone, it may give you an IP from your home country, and La Cena's website appears to block these. Unfortunate, because I would've preferred to contact them directly about these errors. Recommend the website is opened up to accepting requests globally 👍

Otherwise, I'd give this place 5 ⭐, I cannot fault them. Photos attached of the steak, you'll see the T bone plain as day, and the potato plate they served (generously) for each person sharing the steak 👌. The other photo is of the chicken curry, which was quite good too! We also ordered (a lot of) mussels, crab croquettes which were amazing! and we got a complimentary ice cream for the little one in our group! The coffee also gets a special mention for its quality too. As I said, very satisfied...

What absolute disgraceful treatment by staff to the extent the lady manager pushed my mom. Assault is the word I would use. Appalling place!!!! Of the 7 meals 1 was cold. It was politely sent back. A replacement arrived after all others had eaten theirs and without replacement chips. The second meal was also not cooked. At this point we were left to sit with nobody clearing the table, no one asking if everyone was OK, no offer of deserts. We had been refused a place in the window as all tables were apparently reserved. See the photos, still empty when we left. Had to ask for the bill. Had to ask for the one meal to be removed from the bill. Was then questioned on whether that meal had been eaten!!!! Again, see photos. Was then sworn at by the blonde (bobbed hair) lady. She thought we didn't speak Spanish as we are English, 2 people in my family are fluent as they have lived here for 20 years!!! After the waitress being argumentative and being sarcastic by saying a "VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE TO YOU" in an aggressive manner it completely ruined my afternoon. For everyone reading this far, this was a family/friend gathering after loosing a young family member only a couple of weeks ago. We then were leaving the restaurant and the Spanish lady with the blonde bobbed hair walked and pushed myself and my mother out of her way. I cannot understand how staff can be so nasty. Not once did any of our group show any disrespect or aggression to the staff.... Horrible horrible experience..... I shall be showing my videos to all friends and acquaintances. The staff should really be more careful when there's so much technology about. Also, if there is Cctv and it's recorded,the owner needs to look at his staff. I will not EVER...

Wanted to treat my wife to dinner, been to this restaurant before but only for breakfast or lunch. We arrived at 1.30, told by the waiter where we could sit. We sat down and ordered drinks my wife had a white wine and I had a beer this was placed on our table, We waited a while before being asked by the young waitress if we wanted food,she just asked do we want food, we replied yes, she proceeded to take our order BUT just just by word of mouth nothing in to a tablet, we were establishing what we got with the meal, We asked if our order would be with fries or potatoes, she said yes fried potatoes (The menu says fries OR potatoes !!!!! This Waitress got quite impatient with us JUST RUDE After ordering we WAITED AND WAITED AND WAITED, we noticed people arrived after us (4 DIFFERENT TABLES ) had starters and main courses while we were still waiting on our main course (No Starter’s) I eventually asked if they had actually got our order, as so many tables had been given there meals, with in a minute our meals was with us, along with apologies and a FREE glass of wine each. My wife ordered Seabass this war dry full of bones and NOT ENJOYABLY, if you are having fish from a high end restaurant the fish should be pin boned, my chicken satay was dry, so dry the waiter asked if I would like some sauce with it, this in my opinion should be with the meal, Also my wife’s fish should have had white wine sauce, this was ALSO FORGOTTEN and was bought to the table halfway through the meal. WOUND NOT RECOMMEND, INCIDENTALLY I CANNOT BE BOUGHT WITH A FREE...
