Es Mollet — Restaurant in Artà

We were a party of 6 people that were supposed to have dinner here. We ordered our drinks and foods without any problems.

After 5 minutes we got the information that they could not make 2 pizzas (two people in our party ordered pizza), they could only make one. Ok no problem, one of the party members changed her dish to something else.

While waiting for our food we had some drinks and got some bread which was ok.

About 40 minutes later we got some complementary pimentos because we had to wait. We also got the information that they could not serve any pizzas and the salads that two other party members had ordered. Since we were really hungry and did not want to wait anymore we decided to go home for a meal instead.

With that said, i cannot rate the food. The staff was friendly but i do feel that they should have been able to tell us earlier that they were not able to serve the food that we ordered. They also could have given us the bread free of charge. We got charged 2 euro per person for it.

We were very excited for dinner here, planned our one nice meal out on the island to this restaurant. As I have a shellfish allergy I opted for the chicken, rabbit, and pork paella but the waiter then said that was a mistake and it had shellfish. We needed a minute to think while another waiter asked what we would like, I requested the paella without shellfish and the new waiter then said they could do it, but would take 40 minutes. We patiently waited 55 minutes and were then told they made a mistake and would need another 40 minutes to make the paella. It was 10pm at this point and we had to head home (scooter in the dark was our transportation). Unfortunately, we ended up eating a cold pizza for dinner (it sat for an hour, it was meant to be for lunch the next day but we were STARVING). We were not even given the bread for free after leaving hungry and wasting more than hour of our time. Sad to say it was very poor service. The staff clearly only gave attention to the locals and wanted nothing...

We had an amazing dinner at Es Mollet in Colonia de Sant Pere! The paella was the best we've ever tasted, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The white wine paired beautifully with it.
