We reserved a table at the Yume restaurant in July for 26 September 2024 at 21:00. The reservation was confirmed to me in writing on 14 July 2024. A credit card is required to make the reservation (no show policy). The terms and conditions also state that you can only arrive a maximum of 15 minutes late.
At 21:00, we were standing in front of the entrance door of the Yume, the outside lights were not switched on and the automatic glass door did not open. Staff and guests could be seen through the door. Attempts to draw attention to us were unsuccessful, as was a phone call to the restaurant.
Sometime after 21:15, a guest left Yume and we finally had the opportunity to enter the restaurant. The staff reacted very surprised. I pointed out to the staff member that we had a reservation and had been standing outside the door in the dark and cold for more than 15 minutes and that this was unacceptable.
In the meantime, the restaurant manager, Mrs Miranda, came in and, without even getting an overview, she very resolutely pointed out to us that we should have called before to confirm the reservation, claiming that she had called us and that she didn't have our credit card number at all. None of this was true. There was no effort to apologise, only unjustified accusations against the guests.
We would have loved to enjoy the culinary experience of a meal at Yume, but after such unprofessional behaviour from the restaurant staff and the restaurant manager, we felt so unwelcome that we left Yume.
We have never been treated to such unfriendly and unprofessional behaviour in a Michelin Guide restaurant anywhere in the world, regardless of category.
We are happy to provide our reservation...
Read more2 stars since the food was very good, the rest was a bad experience. We arrive with door closed and we had to call to enter. No excuses Nobody takes the coats or jackets we sit at a low table for a drink where we are served a sparkling white wine, without explanation and the wine is warm (not drinkable) we are asked to join in the kitchen for the first dish. Eating standing with the coats and bags was not the best experience. And a kid in the kitchen at a table looking at instagram and not saying hello. We get back at the table we are served wines (we asked for a menu with wines for each plate). No explanation on wines, when the owner tries an explanation is just completely wrong. when a napkin falls on the floor the waiter asks if it is fine to put it back on the table or if she should change it... really? During the entire experience the music was extremely loud (style reggaeton)
The food is good, the place is nice however a lot of work is needed to make it a...
Read moreWe booked for lunch on a Tuesday, unaware that the exhibitions in the art centre were closed (note). We ordered the tasting menu and had an absolutely amazing experience. The waitress explained that they pride themselves on using the whole of a product, including skins, using dehydration and rehydration technics. The vision, expertise and skills used executing these dishes is nothing short of amazing. Coupled with the fact that the service matched the above, in a wonderful setting made for an outstanding experience. We travelled across Northern Spain for the first 2 weeks of June, seeing other towns and sampling other restaurants, which for the most part were very good, but nothing came close to the Yume experience. We look forward to booking again the next time we are in the...
