The owners of Eneperi Restaurant are not going to enjoy this review! I had been looking forward to visiting this restaurant for a few years since Castlerock, the magnificent location in Series 7 of Game of Thrones, featured San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in it. The restaurant seems to infer that you can see the location from its balcony. This is a lie! You have a wonderful view of the rock to the east of it but you cannot see the real deal. Yes, you can take a significant walk to get to it but I am nearly 70 years old and there is no way that my legs would carry me to the nearest vantage point. Eneperi has what I can best describe as a glorified canteen with a superb view of the the rock that you will not be interested in which has an over priced menu for mediocre food. Or! You can go upstairs to the restaurant, which has even worse views, and pay a fortune for their lunch menu! We sat down, looked at €17 for their starter, and €30/40+ for their main courses and walked straight out! We were so looking forward to our visit there but sadly we will...
Read moreGreat view. Service leaves something to be desired. I felt a bit ignored as I waited for the hosts. Host knew I was waiting but no acknowledgement at all. Had to ask for a table three times to three different staff. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, but there wasn't that many people at the restaurant. Food came out quick, which was the only quick thing. Two waiters collected my plates after I was done and I waited over 30 minutes for someone to come with the bill, even after they asked if I wanted anything and I told them I was finished. Two stars for the quick food and that was decently tasty, but service could definitely be more friendly...
Read moreThe view is beautiful but you have to wait extremely long since the kitchen doesn’t have enough capacity. Also the food isn’t very good. The Tuna was salty, dry and had many scales and bones. The size of the Tuna was good tho. The Chorizo and Morcilla however weren’t that good. The Morcilla was extremely overcooked and the Chorizo was quite oily and didn’t taste as good as other Chorizo I‘ve eaten in the past. The portion sizes for the two dishes also weren‘t very big. The food and drinks were quite expensive too when compared to other places that have a „Menu del dia“. Don‘t visit for food visit...
