Casi is a true treasure tucked away in the heart of Barcelona. If you're looking for an unforgettable culinary experience that captures the soul of traditional Catalan cooking, this is the place to be.
From the moment you walk in, you're treated like family. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a genuine neighborhood charm that feels both relaxed and intimate. The service is personal, friendly, and filled with heart – it’s clear that everyone here takes pride in what they do.
The food? Absolutely outstanding. Every dish is a masterclass in authentic Catalan flavor – simple, honest, and deeply satisfying. From tender grilled meats and rich, slow-cooked stews to fresh seafood and perfectly seasoned vegetables, each plate is prepared with love and care. The ingredients are top quality, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming.
Highlights include the gaspacho, traditional beef, and the crema catalana for dessert – all traditional, all perfectly executed. You can tell these recipes have been passed down through generations, staying true to their roots.
Casi isn't just a meal; it’s an experience. It's where locals go for comfort and tradition, and where lucky visitors discover the heart of Catalonia, one delicious bite at a time.
Highly recommended – five stars...
Read moreHighly appreciate this homely restaurant, it was the best meal in Barcelona (unexpectedly) and very near to park guell.
The food is very authentic catalonian food known to this region, despite that it was outside of my usual palate - it was very comforting, simple yet delicious food. I enjoyed it very much, we ordered from the menu del dia some soups and lamb steaks. It was only $12eur and you could even order a drink, it's inclusive. You wouldn't find such great value anywhere else in Barcelona!
I still think of the food from this place from time to time (I visited about a few weeks ago)
But what I really want to emphasize is the tremendously attentive service they have here, it is easily a 5* hotel level of service, from the ordering, a lady helped to explain to us (we didn't know Spanish nor Catalonian) in English what it was, and later, checked on us if it was okay for us, and lastly, they knew what we needed from start to end without us asking or saying anything. Plus they are really efficient!
It was an amazing experience that was enhanced by their great service. Don't be fooled by their simple outlook, this place is divine. It's packed with locals at lunchtime, not easy to get a seat! Their lunch meals start at 1pm, not 12pm, grab a seat early (Typical of Barcelona...

They have a set-menu (with a first, second and dessert course) that changes every day, which makes every visit unique. For our first we got the Pésols amb botifarra negra – a pea soup with traditional black Botifarra sausage and the Trinxat de la cerdanya – a delicious potato, cabbage and pork stew that is considered a homely meal in and around the Pyrenees.
For the 2nd I ordered the Galta de Porc, or Slow roasted Pork cheeks that is hands down one of THE best pork dishes I've ever tasted. Fall-off-the-bone tender, richly flavoured meat that melted in your mouth. You could even reach into the bone and pull out the soft, decadent marrow. As close to heaven you'll get on a plate. My girlfriend ordered the Llobarro al forn, or Oven roasted sea bass with potatoes, which was excellent too, with creamy potatoes enriched by the white wine infused broth of the roast fish.
For dessert, if they have the Catalan national treasure Crema Catalana, get that for certain. Owned and run by a lovely family that takes care of the food, service and counter duties and were generous with their time and...
