I came across this restaurant while searching the internet for the best restaurants with a lunch menu in Barcelona. We arrived around 2:30 and were immediately seated at a nice table for two. Since we were tourists, we were given the all-day menu, which was in English. I don't see this practice as a negative at all; it is a common thing in local restaurants. After asking, the waiter brought us the lunch menu, which was only in Catalan. So, we had to figure it out with the help of a translator. After a while, we had chosen what we were going to have and ordered. As a starter, we chose rigatoni with Iberian ragu. The pasta was al dente, the ragu had a pleasant, fresh tomato taste and was perfectly cooked. The next course was slow-braised beef with demi-glace sauce, sweet potato purée with sweet potato chips, and roasted leeks. This course was fantastic; the meat was literally falling apart, and the sauce had a very pleasant smoky taste. The purée was pleasantly sweet with a crunchy element in the form of chips, and the roasted leek added a very subtle and lively bitterness, which was great. The last course was a dessert in the form of red velvet. It was fluffy, very soft, and just the right amount of sweet. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that far exceeded our expectations. The service was very kind and friendly throughout our visit. The waiter was attentive, helpful, and happy to assist us with anything. He created a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, making us feel welcome. I can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant to everyone, and if I return to Barcelona, I will definitely...

I walked into this restaurant by chance and wow, it totally made my day!
I’ve been in Barcelona for a few days and tried quite a bit of local food, but BODEGA BORRAS is easily my favorite spot so far. Every dish we ordered was super tasty. What really stood out to me was how they added small, thoughtful touches to traditional tapas that made them even more fun to eat.
Take the pan con tomate for example, usually it’s just bread, tomato, and olive oil. But here, they added some coarse sea salt on top, and that tiny twist made such a big difference. It added an extra layer of flavor that was simple but brilliant. That’s just one simple example, but overall, you can tell they really care about the little details and making every dish shine.
Even though it’s a relaxed and casual place, the staff timed the dishes really well based on our pace, so everything came out fresh and hot, which made the whole experience even better.
Also, the ingredients were clearly top quality. Everything tasted super fresh, which to me is a must for a great restaurant.
Long story short: I loved BODEGA BORRAS and totally recommend it. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Barcelona.
Thanks BODEGA BORRAS for making my trip...
Read moreThis restaurant is around the corner from my apartment and at first glance the menu looked good and the decor inside was nice. However the food was disappointing. I ordered veal rossini, with foie sauce and rissole potatoes, which sounded delicious what I got was a lump of meat with some potatoes, I guess I should be grateful they added salt. It was the only flavour/addition. It as listed as gluten free on the menu which I reconfirmed with the waiter but as he dropped the plate of food in front of me he told me the chef said maybe the sauce had gluten so I was getting it without. I would never had ordered it if I had known, the sauce was what sounded most appealing about the dish. To top off what turned out to be a tasteless meal they overcharged me, On the menu ( still hanging in the window today, 2 weeks later) it is listed for €23 however I was charged €24 ..tourist prices,I guess, as I do not look like a resident. Very...
