I have been living in this neighbourhood for a while, and have been a frequent visitor of many restaurants around here. I stopped going to this one a few years ago because the service was slow. Today it was a nice sunny day, so I decided to sit down on the terrace and order a beer and some food here, to give them another chance. I received one tapa, then another one 40 minutes later, when i specified i wanted them together. Then when it came to getting the bill i waited another half hour. The food prices has also almost doubled since last time i was there. The taste is ok, but too pricey for what it is. And to tell you the truth, the staff are nice people, but they don't look around at the tables and they walk around empty handed. Looking everywhere else than at the customers. If they had offered me something on the house as an appology for me spending almost 3 hours eating two tapas and paying the bill, I would have written a good review. But they did not. I must emphasise they are nice people, but they need drilling on the service, especially for the price they charge for very basic small tapas. It is in a good spot for tourists going to park guell, so I am guessing they are not dependent on locals coming back. Anyway, I will try it again in a year to see if it has improved. Meanwhile there are many good restaurants in the area that do pay attention to their customers and intend to provide a good service, also with reasonable...
Read moreI’ve got my very good friend Caroline visiting from Sweden. We used to be flatmates 6 months ago and she’s back visiting, staying at mine. Today I had a free day and we were desperately looking for Tapas. She really wanted to eat in the sun and the mission was on. You know, you’d like to avoid chinos and commercial/industrial tapas restaurant. After checking out a few we came across these nice table under the sun, lot of cars passing but you can’t have everything. We checked the menu and it looked like right exactly what we were looking for. Not even the time to sit down that we had the drinks on the table. We ordered short after a few dishes. The making was a bit slow, but the products and the elaboration very well made. I tried the fried artichoke with haha and jamon and were amazing. The tortilla with onions was probably the best I’ve ever tried in my life. Pan con tomate lil burnt and crunchy and I literally love it. Stuff was nice and kind, I like it. Ah, forgot the patatas bravas and to top it all up the cheesecake which it has a strange taste, maybe the topping wasn’t good, but the consistency, imma tell you, it’s hard to do it like that. I will be back for...
Read moreWe needed a place to eat that was still open on our way back to the hotel. We passed by this place and the reviews looked promising, so in we went.
The food portion was small and didn't taste authentic.
The waitress was having a very hard time by herself. She couldn't find the strawberry for my drink so I changed it to watermelon. Later, she was able to find it and made my strawberry drink after all. She also ran out of paper to print out a receipt so I said it was fine but later, she came to my table and handed it to me in the end. She also broke a glass at the bar. I appreciate what she was trying to do but she was grumpy the whole time doing it. But if the place is well-staffed, I doubt she would be like that.
The one thing that was a bit much - the waitress was impatient with my friend who couldn't read Spanish and pointed to items on the menu. She told my friend to stop covering the words...
