O Retorno 2 — Restaurant in Barcelona

This post is for all those who have been following my Mediterranean journey of Octopus. I want to share with you my first stop in Barcelona, Spain 2024

Restaurant O Retorno 2 Spain 2024 (The first time I wanted to cry because the food was just that good people!)

For starters, I got to make my own Chauterie with Iberico Jamon ham and local sheep's cheese plates accompanied by a small bread plate with tomato and olive oil. This was paired with one of the most tender portions of octopus I have had on my Mediterranean journey so far.

The Acorn Fed Iberico Hams are honestly my favorite meat to order in Spain next to Octupi, hands down! I don't care where you are. Just try Iberico Ham once please anywhere honestly it's like the Tarfuti or Waygu of Spain.

The sheep cheese plate was really good. I happen to enjoy a sharp tangy cheese. It also compliments the salt of the Iberico ham well.

While the octopus in Tuscany was one of the most unique in my travels this year. I would say Restaurant O Retorno 2 had the most consistent and tender portions on the plate.

This time around, I chose a larger portion after the few tentacles I have received at previous restaurants. I learned a dash of table salt will bring out the unique flavor profile of the octopus dishes offered in the Mediterranean.

I would like to state for the taste of the octopus it was unique and culinary inspiring for myself. I have to wonder if this is what octopus should be and taste like. Soft tender and sweet. Truly remarkable!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant in Spain! It was an unexpected find on our way back to the hotel. Despite the staff's English not being perfect, they were incredibly friendly and patient in communicating with us. We ended up going two days in a row, which says a lot!

The food, especially the pepper dish, was the best I've tasted in a long time. I haven't found another place that surpasses their seafood quality: shrimp, seafood rice, squid... they had it all! The best part is they offer both large and small portions, which is perfect for those who want to try a variety of dishes. I absolutely recommend...

Retorno 2 is one of my absolute favorites in Barcelona. E very time I visit the city, I make sure to stop by, and I always recommend it to family and friends.

The food is authentic Galician cuisine, full of flavor and prepared with care.

The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is consistently excellent. Prices are fair for the quality you get, making it a great value.

If you’re looking for a place that combines tradition with a warm dining experience, this is the spot.
